Worst customer service!

I am fuming!

Just off of a phone call with VERY customer service and honestly they are the rudest company I have ever had to deal with.

The customer service rep was rude, aggressive, spent 10 mins shouting at me and didn’t let me finish a sentence.

We have had huge problems with them and their deliveries, with items never turning up or being sent to an old address (which we ended up paying for as it just just too much hassle to deal with and short of small claims there was nothing we could do) missing or broken things, the reps are so bloody rude and unhelpful, it’s been an absolute nightmare.

I had decided to give up and close my account but just didn’t get round to it and forgot. Last week I wanted something specific that was out of stock elsewhere, I had an account so thought fine let’s give it a go they can’t be as much of a shit show as they were or they would have gone bust by now, I was fucking wrong!

I cannot understand how a company can be so unprofessional. As the rep was berating me I did say to her that I was paying for this service and please stop shouting at me which seemed to make her even worse and she loudly told me ‘that’s just how I talk’ yeah I’m sure you spend your life screaming at people.

Why would a company pay a wage to people incapable of using their indoor voice and unable to speak to me like a fucking equal human being.

I honestly don’t think I’m an arsehole. I’ve worked in sales and customer service so know how crap it can be. I always try to be kind and remember everyone has a bad day but honestly this has really fucked me off!

I know I’m NBU I just wanted to vent! Grin

If anything me wants to sympathise or give me worse instances of customer service to make me feel better that would be grand.

They're on twitter. If I were you, I'd be all over their account detailing the terrible service. If it's public then they're more likely to do something to sort it.

Hopefully you have closed your account now.

Yes everyone can have bad days but honestly they are getting paid to serve customers, it’s their job. I’ve worked in retail and it was shit but I always tried to keep a smile on my face even when a customer was being a total asshole

I remember being in a clothes shop and paying for a dress, the woman serving me spent the whole transaction talking to her colleague, didn’t even bother telling me how much item was or when I should put card in etc. So I did it all myself, even put dress in the bag once she’d slammed it down on the counter. Had to ask for the receipt. Then she just walked off when the shop phone started ringing. Honestly I was gobsmacked!

You should definitely lodge a complaint with them and don’t use them again!

Bobbybear10 · 19/11/2018 15:11

Tbh I don’t really use twitter but I could get my DH to do it.
Even though the woman was really rude and aggressive I would feel bad if she lost her job or something. For all I know her mother/father/husband could’ve died recently or something, but I’m finding it very hard not to be pissed off still!

Wineandpyjamas

I think I would’ve walked out without the dress or paying for it at that point! You have much more patience than me.

I've heard of a few people having problems with VERY customer service. Basically the same issues, rude, unhelpful and inefficient. I know how draining retail is, especially when you're dealing with complaints but if that's what you're paid to do then unfortunately you have to deal with it!

JustMarriedAndLovingIt · 19/11/2018 16:47

I’ve got a few but my latest is National Express. I booked tickets for DH and I to travel home from the airport. I was quite cautious about the time after we were held up for two hours on our last holiday (although luckily we were driving) I asked if there was any chance we could get on an earlier coach but the only way was to pay £60 each!!! The coach we wanted to get on had about 5 people on it Angry So we waited three hours for our booked one which also had about 5 people on it, crazy.

I've worked in customer service and that's so unprofessional. I wonder if the person you spoke to is leaving and saying to you what they've wanted to say to other customers. Most companies record calls and if you're caught being rude to a customer you'll be hauled over the coals for it.

I'd complain to the customer service manager about it.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/11/2018 17:25

Yeah make a cunt out of them on Twitter.

Just Fashion Now - don’t be tempted to use them.

TheFairyCaravan · 19/11/2018 17:36

I've used Very for years, moved 3 times and have never had a bad experience. They've always been helpful when I ring but tbh I don't ring often.

Foamybanana93 · 19/11/2018 17:41

to be honest i find its usually the customers ringing with the attitude and that normally sets off the advisor, but then again i always try and rise above the rude customers and be as sickly nice as possible, there is definitely times when you wish you could say what your actually thinking Grin

Bobbybear10 · 19/11/2018 18:44

Honestly I was super polite, to begin with anyway!

As I said I’ve worked in customer service and have complete empathy for the shit job it can sometimes be.

Tbh I think it was me being polite to begin with that set her off. If I had been less of a pushover she might not have been so rude.

Even if I had been ridiculously rude I’m not sure how shouting at a customer or cutting them off mid sentence is going to make things better? Surely the thing about being a good customer service rep/sales rep is about turning around exasperated customers?

I’m not sure sickly nice is the best way to go either as it can come across as being facetious. As I was finishing the call the advisor very loudly and with more than a touch of sarcasm said ‘thanks for calling, have a nice rest of your afternoon, won’t you’ and hung up.

I can’t quite get my head around the fact she was obviously in a call centre and other people could hear her so it must be a fairly normal practice for VERY customer service or she wouldn’t have thought it ok to speak the way she did.

Recently I was in A&E, fast-tracked through triage with tachycardia and obs hugely elevated (147 pulse). I was also writhing around with searing right sided abdo pain radiating to my back. Now, I suffer from frequent biliary colic attacks since my gallbladder was removed 18 months ago, and when I get a bad one the instruction is to get to hospital for antibiotics, antispasmodics, antiemetics (bile puke is a lovely colour), and pain relief via IV. I'm at risk of acute pancreatitis, which is really rather nasty.

Anyway, nurse came to check obs an hour after triage (hadn't seen anyone before). Obs still fucked, pain same. Nurse told me that there was no way I could be in pain like this as I didn't have a gallbladder.

Four hours later a doc saw me, paled, said brb and brought drugs back. Turns out my CBD was distended and bile sludge triggering said pancreatitis (which can be fatal if left).
