For ages now I've felt really tired, falling asleep early.
My feet and legs keep twitching,I've had a sore mouth and fast heart beat, pins and needles in fingers.
I got a blood test at doctors
I phoned for result and red blood count was low side of normal and receptionist said come in and see doctor.
Went in to see GP ..he looked at screen and said it's in normal limits.
I said but receptionist said I had to come in?
He just said it's low of normal but still in normal.
Yet I have all these symptoms?

No harm in getting a second opinion!

Did you have any deficiencies? Floradix won’t do much if you don’t

ashley444 · 19/11/2018 14:26

Well my iron was apparently low of normal.

Did they check your vitD? I had tingling and weakness in my arms and legs and felt very fatigued when my vitamin D was low.

Spatone is good for iron - I used it instead of the horrible iron pills they prescribe (I’d had a blood transfusion after a pph, but still needed topping up afterwards) and it worked well.

Do you have a print out of your blood test results OP? If you ask for one you can share it on here and people will help you decipher them.

Did your dr check your B12 levels?

I'm borderline anemic and have low B12 and have similar symptoms to you.

queenrollo · 19/11/2018 14:29

If I am low side of normal I really suffer. I need to be at the high end of the range to function well.

But if you feel like this and the GP has just brushed you off, then yes...go and seek a second opinion.

ashley444 · 19/11/2018 14:34

He and the receptionist wouldn't tell me my levels.
She said im not medically trained so would be pointless.

Yes definitely. You're not feeling well and you don't have an explanation for it so it's worth seeing a different GP for another appointment.

BlackInk · 19/11/2018 15:35

Are you in the UK? If so you're legally entitled to see your patient records including the results of any tests. I would request access to your test results and also try seeing a different dr. If your levels are ok and you're still feeling rubbish, then they need to help you find out why...
