I know it's small but it's made my ankle slightly swollen and itches...yes I am a hypochondriac! Any thoughts? Praying it's not a tick bite.

...I'm also in my Xmas pyjamas!

Looks like a normal bite to me Confused

WendyWoofer · 18/11/2018 19:25

If it was a tick the tick would be firmly embedded in your flesh 😁

Who knows what it is? Where have you been? What insects have you come into contact with? Do you have pets? It could be a flea bite... Nobody can guess with scant info.

Looks like mozzie or flea bite. Although flea bites are rarely singular...

Oopsusernamealreadytaken · 18/11/2018 19:28

Bed bugs?

Lizzie48 · 18/11/2018 19:33

Looks like a flea bite, I get lots of those, if I don't keep up with my cats' flea treatment (I use Stronghold). But if I keep up to date I fat none at all. It's a useful reminder. But yes, there's almost always more than one.

It's more likely a gnat or mosquito bite. Yes, they're annoying and itchy, I know, but they wear off. Anthisan works a treat in my experience.

Look on the bright side, at least in this country you know you won't get malaria!! (Spoken as a former sufferer if that disease when I was in Africa for a 2 months voluntary placement.)

Ha ha yes I know I'm being dramatic

I think I got it from the Tesco car park. Parent and child is in front of a grassy hedge with lots of dead leaves, and when we were filling the boot, I had bare ankles. So probably from there.

Looks like a flea bite to me, tics have a bullseye look to them (I think)

Cherries101 · 18/11/2018 20:28

It looks like a spider bite

Jack65 · 18/11/2018 20:31

A gnat or mosquito bite. Some people have a worse reaction and the bite swells and becomes red and inflamed. I'm fine with them, just get like a normal spot but no head. Some people react horrifically to them, like my late dm.

CheshireChat · 18/11/2018 20:36

If it's a spider then you'll have a central bite and lots of little surrounding red marks as the legs are venomous (or should that be poisonous).
