To move the Bricket wood

Anyone here from Bricket Wood or know anyone from there? Considering a move there and really not sure if is too quiet and mainly full of elderly folk. But it's bloomin beautiful and so are the houses so seriously considering.
I have a little girl (3yrs) with a boy on the way so am asking if you think it's a suitable place for a young family (not that young, I'm 35) Much going on?
Thanks so much for reading!

Quiet, catchment for Parmiters (good secondary), slightly rubbish public transport. Nice park.

Did I mention it was quiet?

Thank you @ouda . That's helpful as we were wondering about secondary schools. Hmm. I'm not sure I'm ready for a quiet life just yet.

There’s the Naked Village (the Spielplatz naturist club) in Lye Lane that livens things up a bit. Disclaimer: I’ve never been but did live in St Albans for many years.

onemorecupofcoffeefortheroad I saw the documentary a few years ago and liven is not the word I would use- the average age of the residents seemed about 75.

Oh thank you guys. I loved a house so much that I was considering offering. I think I knew deep down it wasn't for us yet, really appreciate you responding.

It is a nice place for a young family but you have to drive as transport is limited and local shops are very limited. Herts is nice and lots to do a drive away but the only thing I know of in Bricket Wood itself is a very good park for little ones. No idea about primary schools. Parmiters is excellent and you might get a distance place or might need to get in on exam depending where you live as it's that weird Herts hybrid, a semi-selective school.

I have never lived in BW but had friends who did. They seemed to like it. But you'd have to be prepared to drive to get to work, shops, activities - apart from the park, nothing in BW itself. If you don't mind driving, you're a short drive to St Albans, lots going on, or Watford. Nearby is Willows Farm, fantastic for all under 10s.

We moved to the sticks (not Bricket Wood) from London - it was good for my dcs when little. But we've moved back nearer the big smoke as our dcs got older as like you, I missed the action. Depends what suits you really. If the area is good for you but you want more activity, maybe look at St Albans, as there is loads going on there. Though house prices are a bit stupid there and due for a fall soon I think as not really merited.

I had a friend who used to go to the hsbc training facility there - is it still there? (Sorry op for derailing)

Hi. I was wondering if you actually moved to Bricket Wood? I’m considering moving there too. Thank you.
