To ask why you get involved with MLMs?

I can’t be the only person who is simultaneously sick to the back teeth of being cornered about the “exciting opportunity” that awaits, whilst feeling sorry for those who get sucked in.

A friend is desperately trying to sell me £25 shampoo from her cosmetics “business”, and encouraging me to join in for the ride. A Mercedes SLK awaits, so I’m told

How do you handle these situations? Why are people so stupid?

A cousin of mine recently started doing the aloe vera one. It's mostly on FB where I don't have an account, so I don't have to openly ignore it. I've seen her profile, though, and it's almost funny. She's a good-looking glamorous woman in her late 40s, and really doesn't need to manipulate her features to make herself look fuzzily wrinkle-free to sell the snake oil. I have no idea why she does it - she and her DH both have reasonably jobs, and their small mortgage must have been paid off by now. Still, she's an international business 'owner' and 'mentor' now, which presumably says status to her.

There's a super podcast called The Dream about MLMS. One of the hosts joins one. It's just crazy the stuff that goes on with them and how much debt people get into.

The makeup ones that require women to go Facebook live EVERY NIGHT 🙄 The women I know who are flogging it don't wear makeup in real life and don't know what they're doing or what they're banging on about.

I feel sorry for one girl I went to school with. She doesn't get one response, ever. She clearly tries to start conversations like posting 4 shades of lipsticks and asking "which shade do you like best?" But no one bites
