That’s it really.

I can feel the melancholy creeping in, and I want to take steps to try and help myself out of it.

Im poor, so the things I used to do like get my nails done I can’t do any more.

But I’m open minded and will give anything a go Smile

If you have anyone to look after your baby, try Couch to 5k. It is an app on your phone that is free and teaches you gradually to run for 5k. I have completed this (from being a total beginner) and it has helped my mood, my confidence and my weight. To be honest you could probably even do it pushing your buggy. Also, last night I felt down and so I watched an episode of First Dates which always cheers me up and restores my faith in love and human nature.

It's so boring, but exercise and healthy eating makes a HUGE difference with me. Going for a run or doing a workout routine on YouTube so I'm really sweating, at least every other day, plus staying away from sweet "comfort foods". I think I want a bag of sweets/treacle tart/chocolate eclair but I always feel anxious and have heart-palpitations from the sugar afterwards, but having an apple/some cucumber and carrot/a wedge of orange really helps.

Like I said, dull but it works.

Plus as others have said, funny podcasts and TV, dancing to upbeat songs, making lists of Things That Cheer Me Up. Even if I don't do them, just making that list helps.

Good luck xxx 🙂

On BBC iPlayer, have a look at Money for Nothing! It's a really sweet programme where they rescue items from the tip and do amazing refurbishments on them. I have been going the same way as you OP and silly as it sounds, watching these has really taken my mind off things completely, especially curling up with a big cup of tea and biscuits to watch it. Phone call to a friend, preferably one who can always make you smile. Hope you feel better soon, OP. 💐
