Never had the windows professionally cleaned before. Guys came round. Windows were left dripping.

Is that right? I assumed they'd be dried off?!!

Did he at least squeegee them?

flowerandflower · 16/11/2018 16:10

Mine are normally left dry

YouTheCat · 16/11/2018 16:11

They'll end up streaky. Doesn't sound very good.

namechanged0983 · 16/11/2018 16:17

Ok so I'm not an idiot. They used a squeegee. But windows are definitely wet like they've been rained on.

No you're not an idiot but mine are left dry when the lad comes to do them. Could you try a different company?

flumpybear · 16/11/2018 16:19

Blimey the sort of service you'd get from the people from The Apprentice ShockHmm

diymania · 16/11/2018 16:20

Mine are left wet. My window cleaner uses some sort of special system/chemical where the water runs off it. Like a wax finish on a car. Don’t notice my windows being streaky.

iloveredwine · 16/11/2018 16:20

My new window cleaner does this. he explained it was a different system. I'm still not happy as when I opened the front door it dripped all over the hallway!

selepele · 16/11/2018 16:22

op should be wiped because they will have water marks

agedknees · 16/11/2018 16:23

Mine left dripping. It’s a new system. We got our first clean free of charge.

TwoBlueFish · 16/11/2018 16:24

Are they doing them by hand or using a pole? When done with a pole they’re usually left wet but use filtered water so it doesn’t leave streaks.

LutherRalph1 · 16/11/2018 16:26

Yes they use filtered water which doesn't leave marks

Soph88 · 16/11/2018 16:30

Mine are always left dripping. My guy uses a pole. They're are not streaky afterwards.

namechanged0983 · 16/11/2018 16:31

Ok just seen on their website they use a pole and filtered water. They have 5* reviews so let's see what happens when they dry!

OP posts:
Ballymenahey · 16/11/2018 16:39

My window cleaner in my last house used a pole and special water that came out of his van - my windows were always dripping, but not streaky!

Fablesfairytales · 16/11/2018 16:41

Depends if they use a pure water pole system. If they do they will be left wet as they dry clean and because the water is purified it will leave no marks. They'll be much cleaner than the old squeegee way.

Roussette · 16/11/2018 16:47

Window cleaners don't use squeegees, ladders and all of that anymore do they?

It's a filtered water system where they look wet but dry crystal clear.

We have a new window cleaner and he uses it, as did my last w/cleaner. Apparently the water is really expensive to buy

thereallochnessmonster · 16/11/2018 16:51

Thought you were going to say filtered water! Yup, they are left wet. They should dry nicely with no smearing.

Oobis · 16/11/2018 19:44

Should dry unstreaky with distilled water, but check they've wiped the frames and sills....
