It depends. It's a lovely cake if you have made it for a family party, but if you are a professional cake maker charging 100 quid for it, not so great.

InkyGrail · 16/11/2018 15:08

Looks yummy and I can tell it's a hedgehog. Makes it a win in my book!

(so long as this is for personal use and not professional!!)

Armchairanarchist · 16/11/2018 15:09

It's great. This is a fail!

It's lovely, and I'd eat him, but being honest, I really think he needs to be spikier. Matchsticks, chocolate fingers or flake....

CalamityJane10 · 16/11/2018 15:13

I’d be proud of that!

diddl · 16/11/2018 15:14

Yup-the choc buttons don't really work, do they?

DarlingNikita · 16/11/2018 15:19

I love it and I think the buttons/spines are fine.

OvO · 16/11/2018 15:22

I really want to eat his face.

user1495884620 · 16/11/2018 15:23

I agree with Deadringer. If I'd made it for a family party, or a friend had made it for their child's party, I would be very pleased with it. If I had paid a small fortune to a professional cake-maker, I wouldn't be impressed.

shesabloodywitch · 16/11/2018 15:24

It's lovely but it's more an armadillo than a hedgehog

thereallochnessmonster · 16/11/2018 15:24

It's lovely!! :)

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 16/11/2018 15:25

It's lovely!

UNlike this monstrosity (another step up from Armchair's post)

Oh, that's cute. I was expecting to find something like you'd get on GBBO: An Extra Slice. I think you've just come on here to show off! Not that there's anything wrong with that, I'd do that too if I had produced something cute like this!

littlemisscomper · 16/11/2018 15:27

How can anyone bring themselves to eat these cakes though? Wouldn't you feel brutal plunging the knife in?

InvisibleLlama · 16/11/2018 15:29

@nonetcurtains - I hope you will serve that up with some rice...

Babyroobs · 16/11/2018 15:38

That is lovely ,well done. I made one once , not as good as yours.

Bishalisha · 16/11/2018 15:42

I was laughing before even opening the thread in anticipation of a hideous hog. Was slighty gutted at the success, so thank you to the PPs who posted the fails. I’ve returned to sniggering.

KittyLover91 · 16/11/2018 15:42

Irs brilliant!

championquartz · 16/11/2018 15:52

It's a great cake!!

And looks rather delicious, so no, I wouldn't feel brutal sticking a knife in it Grin

But why do you ask OP?

TheOrigBrave · 16/11/2018 15:52

He's not a fail at all, just more Armadillo than Hedgehog I'd say.

toothfairy73 · 16/11/2018 15:53

Seriously thought it was a bit crap...

OP posts:
toothfairy73 · 16/11/2018 15:54

@Deadringer definitely NOTa professional 😂

OP posts:
Nousernameforme · 16/11/2018 15:55

oh he is fab how did you get the snout shape if you don't mind me asking I've said to ds we will make one but ive no idea how to get the right shape of cake before the icing.

TheOrigBrave · 16/11/2018 15:55

Well it depends...have your been commissioned for the next Royal Wedding? If so, then it might not be quite up to standard, but if it's for a kids party then you're onto a winner.

spiderplantsalad · 16/11/2018 15:55

I was also hoping for a spectacular fail. Your hog looks great.
