That people can't remember their dreams?

Lighthearted before angry AIBU posters jump in!

I have very vivid technicolour dreams that I remember in great detail, and also regular reoccurring dreams that I recognise when they happen and enjoy like a good movie.

OH has nothing. Nada. Never remembers dreaming ever.

I say he's repressed Wink

Doesn't everyone dream?

I believe everyone does dream but some people don't remember them.

I remember mine from most nights. Sometimes they don't twig in my head for a few hours, but I always remember a dream or two a night.

InspectorIkmen · 15/11/2018 23:21

I’ve never met anyone who claimed to never dream. How weird. I dream the biggest load of convoluted surreal bollocks that mostly I can’t even share it with anyone for fear of them backing away and running for their lives 😂😂

Racecardriver · 15/11/2018 23:23

You only remember your dreams if you wake up at a certain point in your sleep cycle.

Racecardriver · 15/11/2018 23:23

That’s why people typically only remember the last dream they dreamt before waking up

UpstartCrow · 15/11/2018 23:25

I love dreaming so much that deliberately eat cheese before bedtime.

Sunflowersforever · 15/11/2018 23:26

OH claims to never had a dream ever. Can't recall any. Confused

Mine are extremely vivid , having PTSD from leaving domestic violence doesn't help. Also possibly the meds I'm on.
I remember in vivid detail and they can stay with me for days and I have panic attacks while having them too. It's so bad I've had hypnotherapy for it several times in my life.
When I was on zopiclone however , I don''t remember dreams. It was just a lovely comforting blank, but I'm not allowed it now unfortunately.

Sunflowersforever · 15/11/2018 23:28

@UpstartCrow

I totally understand that. I love dreaming. It's a fun part of my life. Sometimes my dreams are like huge adventures. I just can't believe there are people who have no dream recall.

My husband is the same. Very occasionally, maybe once a year, he’ll say “I had a weird dream last night” and when I ask for details he’ll say “I can’t remember. I just know it was weird” Hmm

Sunflowersforever · 15/11/2018 23:30

Oh sorry to hear that @alltoomuchrightnow That must be distressing

I'm exactly like you, but my DH rarely ever dreams. Few times a year he'll say he's had a bad dream, but otherwise nada. Me, every night sometime more than one. Very vivid.

JEMSY30 · 15/11/2018 23:36

The ones I don't tend to remember is where I've woken myself up because I'm laughing loudly, and then laugh because I'm laughing and then eventually can't remember what I was finding funny in the first place Grin

PinkCalluna · 15/11/2018 23:37

I just can't believe there are people who have no dream recall.

You can’t believe that people are different to you OP?

meow1989 · 15/11/2018 23:38

Mine are very vivid and I sometimes know I'm dreaming too (usually if I can fly or jump high I realise) but can't do anything about it if you see what I mean.

Apparently we dream in black and white (don't know where I ready that) but I'm sure mine are colour!

LadyDeadpool · 15/11/2018 23:38

Weed withdrawal gives you seriously vivid dreams. Apparently THC interferes with REM sleep so when you come off it you have the weirdest dreams.

LadyDeadpool · 15/11/2018 23:39

I can bring myself out of nightmares though if one starts I can recognise it and start a new dream by thinking "No lets move on from this"

Pebblespony · 15/11/2018 23:40

I can remember them for a few moments after waking but then it fades usually.
