to ask about your baby's eye colour?

My baby has dark grey/blue eyes (4 weeks old) and I'm very curious to know what they're going to change to!

How did your baby's eyes change as they got older?

DD has almost black eyes, so dark we couldn’t tell what colour dark blue or brown. They’re brown now Smile

LiamMcpoyle · 15/11/2018 16:43

DS had bright blue eyes from the start - dark initially and then light as he grew older.

DD started off with dark blue eyes, turning dark greeny brown and now, at a little of a year old, they are a light brown colour

peachgreen · 15/11/2018 16:43

DD's eyes were a very dark blue and are now (at 10 months) mostly slate grey but with blue and green tinges depending on the light. I'm brown and DH is light blue. No idea where she got them from!

Liskee · 15/11/2018 16:46

DS1 now has brown eyes, but they took 3 years to get to the colour they are. DS2 has blue eyes, with no sign of them changing.

TittyFahLaEtcetera · 15/11/2018 16:46

DS was born with very dark eyes, we couldn't even tell what colour they were, they were just "dark". By 3-4 months they were a definite dark green-hazel with a blue/grey ring round the outside, just like mine. His DF has blue eyes.

BumbleBeee69 · 15/11/2018 16:48

DH and I have dark brown eyes

both of our kids have Green eyes Hmm go figure lol

KeepingItWinter · 15/11/2018 16:54

I have green eyes and DS dad has hazel.

DS had navy eyes when he was born and now he is 6 and has blue eyes. They have been that colour since he was about 6 months.

TheMadGardener · 15/11/2018 17:22

I have dark blue/grey eyes with a black ring round the iris (exactly the same as my father). DH has rather pale blue eyes with no iris ring.

Both DDs were born with fairly bright blue eyes and now have eyes exactly like mine and my father's, which I'm happy about. Apparently mine were bright blue at birth also.

Waitingonasmiley42 · 15/11/2018 17:23

Born blue and started to go dark by about 8 weeks. By 12 weeks both children were completely hazel eyed.

agnurse · 15/11/2018 17:24

It's actually a myth that all babies are born with blue eyes. Babies can be born with any colour of eyes. It IS true that their eye colour is not always fixed at birth.

Hubby has hazel eyes and I have blue. My DSD has brown eyes, but that's because she has her mum's eyes.

SisyphusHadItEasy · 15/11/2018 17:28

DD1's eyes stayed a slate grey/deep blue colour.

DD2's started out dark grey/blue and are now a very deep brown.

Mine are muddy and boring.

CheshireChat · 15/11/2018 17:35

It took about 1 1/2 years to 2 yrs for DS's eye colour to settle, they started out as grey then gradually shifted to green grey now at 4.

My eyes change a lot depending on light etc so I suppose it's not that surprising.

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 15/11/2018 17:35

Wow, I knew it was possible for babies eyes to change colour but didn't know it happened so often!

All 4 of my boys were born with lovely blue eyes and they stayed blue, barely even changed shade. But they also all kept their hair, none of them lost it, and kept their hair colouring apart from the blondes have gone slightly darker over the years.

Noboozeforme · 15/11/2018 17:59

DS1 was born with very dark blue eyes - they are now dark grown almost black eyes.
DS2 was born with bright blue eyes. His never changed.

Montsti · 15/11/2018 18:36

DH’s eyes are blue. Mine are green.

I was born with blue eyes as were all 4 of my kids...mine turned very green at the age of 5...dd1 is 6 and hers are changing colour from blue to green..DS still has blue eyes and he’s 9 so I think he’ll stay that way as will dd2...dd3 is only 1 and has the most piercing blue eyes. Fingers crossed they stay that way although I think hers will also turn green...

RoboticSealpup · 15/11/2018 18:42

DD had dark blue eyes when she was born. She's 4 now and they've been a warm, bright green with little yellow flecks in for a long time.

RoboticSealpup · 15/11/2018 18:43

(DH and I both have different shades of green.)

0lgaDaPolga · 15/11/2018 18:44

My son was born with very dark grey eyes. I knew they would turn brown as mine are very light blue so thought if he was going to have blue eyes they would have been a lot lighter to start off with

Avalicious1980 · 15/11/2018 18:47

Both girls were born with mid blue eyes and they changed quite quickly to very pale blue with a dark blue ring. They almost look like androids. Funny because I’m often told that I look like a robot by my students (!)

Both myself my husband have pale blue eyes. His have more of a green tinge whilst mine are icy.

SaltedToPerfection · 15/11/2018 18:48

Eldest was born with very dark grey eyes, they turned a lovely blue.

Youngest was born with blue eyes and they’ve turned bluey/green. Probably more green.

DS was born with very dark grey/black eyes. By 6 months they were medium blue. And now at 2 years old they are ice light blue! It's bizzare looking back at his newborn photos!

Onemorefireball · 15/11/2018 18:59

Both of mine were born with the exact same eyes they have now, a brown green. Dd1 has a blue patch in one eye and that was there when she was born too.

DinosApple · 15/11/2018 18:59

DD1 started with blue eyes, that then went green and stayed that way for 3 years. Now they are hazel/golden.

DD2 had bright blue eyes for 2 years then they went green and are now hazel/brown with a blue outer ring.

I've brown eyes that took a couple of years to change from blue, mine are still very gradually getting darker. DH has grey blue eyes.

Oldraver · 15/11/2018 19:00

Both DS's very blue. Older DS I would say is now verging on grey but younger DS still has very blue eyes.

Being as both myself and their Dads were blue eyed I didnt expect them to change much
