AIBU to think a £1200 fridge should last longer than 5 years?

Sooooo, I spent A LOT of money (£1200) buying a Falcon fridge, was reno-ing the kitchen, really wanted to buy quality etc etc. After five years it looks like this, the ice-maker doesn't work, the display is stuck... and parent company AGA Rangemaster have offered to take it away and give me for £253.35... It's only five years old!!!!!! AIBU to think that's completely outrageous?? Surely you would expect a fridge from that company, at that price to last more than five years??? I don't need a new fridge, just want my super shabby one repaired and working. AIBU?

My family and I are living in a rented, gated apartment in midtown of a major city and are paying through the nose in rent and the 3-month old dishwasher has broken! It was still wrapped in cello tape when we moved in! At least it’ll be repaired on the apartment management. Good luck with your refrigerator.

@TheQueef... amazing suggestion to go to Which? So much info - including that as it's less than 6 years old I can request a repair or replacement!! and a really useful letter generator... Thanks x

@MrsMWA ... have a look here... so helpful and stright forward - you should do it for your Rangemaster cooker too! www.which.co.uk/tools/faulty-goods-complaint-tool/

Thanks will try! Although they don’t do the blue version anymore so not sure I want a new one...
