To take a 6 year old to the spice girls tour?

My dd will have just turned 6. Do you think the spice girls concert would be suitable?
Has anyone else got tickets planning to take children?

No I wouldn't, lots of standing around which will be hard on little legs. Will the concert finish late in the evening past her bedtime. Sounds like a really bad idea.

Butternutsquashy · 13/11/2018 21:40

Hmm I was thinking this. Though have booked seated tickets and a hotel less than a mile from venue. Concert starts at 5pm so don’t think it would finish horrendously late. Just the sheer number of people and worry of pushing/shoving/general rowdiness that would be more of a concern.

At 6 she's getting a bit old for Spice Girls music.

shaftedbythesystem · 13/11/2018 21:50

She'll love it. Of course you can take her.

coconutwheel · 14/11/2018 00:39

I know no child who would love dated old music and bunch of screaming mums in their 40s. I personally wouldn’t do this either but why not take her to Katie Perry, Little Mix or whatever little girls actually enjoy these days, not their mums?!
There were lots of little ones when o took my (older) DD to a gig and many left well before the end as the main act doesn’t usually start until 9. I suspect doors open at 5 but could be wrong!

I took my 6 year old to Taylor swift HOWEVER I also have spice girl tickets and they are just for me! Grin it's a mums night out because - well I want to be a spice girl and relive my youth for the night with my friend haha! WineWineWine

RavenWings · 14/11/2018 00:51

The Spice Girls won't be starting at 5pm though - that will be support acts at best. For a main act you're probably looking at 9 or 10 oclock.

Rachelover40 · 14/11/2018 01:45

She'll love it. Back in 'their' day, the Spice Girls were hugely popular with children, particularly girls.

Have a good time.

halfwitpicker · 14/11/2018 01:48

Oh god no

MicroManaged · 14/11/2018 01:52

It’s going to be full of pissed up 30 year old women reliving their teen years.

I wouldn’t.

MrsTerryPratcett · 14/11/2018 01:56

Would she actually want to go? Or is it for you?

ltgmumof3 · 10/07/2019 08:07

My little girl apparently loves the spice girls- they seem to be making massive come back with youth. (My girl is 5- and keeps asking to see them when she turns 6, I have same debate on whether to try and find suitable venue- but none are early enough. Maybe a tribute band is what I am thinking now... thoughts for you maybe?

FizzyGrape · 10/07/2019 08:26

I can't understand how anybody could think this a good idea.

PooWillyBumBum · 10/07/2019 08:27

After seeing the behaviour of the pissed forty-something year old women covered in glitter on the train back from Wembley a few weeks ago I wouldn’t. Full on fights and swearing in front of their children. And they all got off at a ”naice” area.

PooWillyBumBum · 10/07/2019 08:28

That said my 11yo loves the spice girls so I don’t think all kids think it’s old lady music.

CassianAndor · 10/07/2019 08:38

My 9 year old quite likes the Spice Girls.

However, I would not take her to a concert.

It will be LOUD, crowded and full of pissed people.

isitsummeryet1 · 10/07/2019 08:40

Did u go @Butternutsquashy ? I have a 9 and 6 yo. I took my 9yo but not my 6. There was a LOT of drunk people, and not many kids at all, but we all had a fantastic time!

Butternutsquashy · 10/07/2019 09:36

Yes we did go (was just the two of us) and she absolutely loved it! We didn't have to queue at all to get in, as we had seats we didn't have any trouble with crowding, was a quick dash at the end back to the hotel and managed to avoid any rowdiness. She was definitely the youngest I saw there but I'm so glad we did it!

Aw fab! We had a great time too, saw them at Sunderland and stayed literally across the road. We had a bit of a queue for merchandise but no problems at all once inside the stadium. The hotel were lovely with her too and made my daughter mock tails so she could dance away in the hotel foyer with the rest of the fans. I do regret not taking my 6yo, even though she wouldn't have known the songs I think she would have had a fab time!

ltgmumof3 · 10/07/2019 12:46

Cheers.
As said my little one loves them but won’t take her as hadn’t considered all the ‘pissed’ adults. I was initially concerned about the time.
She does love concerts but we’ve only done family orientated ones.
And when I’ve been to a few concerts not seen intoxicated adults- but guess wrong genera of music.

missmouse101 · 10/07/2019 12:49

No, I wouldn't. Plenty of time in the future to enjoy things like that. Too much, too young.
