Rounded bum trend?

I don’t know whether I’m just being really dense, but if you’re a normal person what on earth would be the size clothing you wear if you have a Kim Kardashian bum? Surely it simply doesn’t exist for general society?

For backstory, I used to be a gym bunny pre children (now teenage), Several months ago I started back and it’s great, enjoying it etc, but these days the recommended exercises seem to be all about bigging up the bum and skinnying the waist.

Sorry if this has been done before, but I really can’t see anything on the high street that is cut anything like this?

If you have Kim K's proportions it must be very difficult as they're quite exaggerated and unique. I don't have a clue what size she is, but her waist is tiny and her bum/hips must be at least 4 sizes bigger!

I think the high street caters towards people who have a more toned-down version of her general shape, though. Bottom-heavy seems to be a 'fashionable' body shape at the moment, if there is such a thing. Loads of tops and dresses you can't wear without a bra, body con, figure hugging stuff that looks a bit crap if you have a flat arse (like me).

Marioki · 13/11/2018 21:15

I'm very bottom heavy. I've always been two sizes bigger on the bottom than the top. I'm currently a size ten top and fourteen bottom. Buying trousers is tough as if they fit the hips and bum, they are massive on the waist.
Clothes manufactures don't cater for people with my figures even though it's currently fashionable.

caddywally · 13/11/2018 21:20

Marioki Do jeans actually fit anyone?! I have the opposite problem to you - don't do up on my midsection but baggy around the hips/bum. I've give up and haven't worn jeans for years.

ReflectionsofParadise · 13/11/2018 21:24

Alteration shops exist for a reason. I know many people who have to buy bigger and get the waists/legs taken in.

tillytoodles1 · 13/11/2018 21:57

I'm an apple with a big stomach and a tiny bum, KK's clothes would fit me upside down.

Branleuse · 13/11/2018 22:03

You just have to wear a lot of lycra

FuzzyShadowChatter · 13/11/2018 22:05

YANBU, It is strange and I guess all their trousers would need to be quite stretchy or altered. It's hard enough finding clothes that fit without that.

I'm trying to rebuild my strength and get back into it as well and everywhere is as you said etsiketsi - bigger bums, smaller waist. I just want to be generally fitter - strength/endurance/power/mobility, maybe some better mind-muscle connection as I'm struggling with that a lot more now that I'm older but that's not where much guidance is at right now.

DishranawaywiththeSpoon · 13/11/2018 22:14

I think you just have to wear stretchy things, like misguided or pretty little thing stuff, that's basically just pure lycra.

I'm larger of bottom, with a smallish waist, sadly through cheese not through gym and it's really hard to find stuff to wear. I get like bulges where it's too loose on the waist and too tight on my thighs/bum so then I always have this little pocket.

My friend is a big gym bunny and a fairly skinny one at that, big thighs/bum to waist ratio but nowhere near that of Kim k and it's just a lot of leggings and tight dresses because she struggles with normal clothes. She's got a wonderful figure so can literally pull off anything, I guess she can pull off the bodycon whilst I can't really.

AngeloMysterioso · 13/11/2018 22:17

Kim K and her over inflated sisters have to have all their jeans tailored.

FunkyChunk · 13/11/2018 22:26

I'm naturally of Kardashian preportions, huge arse and smaller waist. I'm quite chuffed that the shape I tried to hide in my teens is now fashionable!

BUT it is hard to dress. I do not own a single pair of jeans or trousers, they simply don't fit. I live in dresses, skirts and leggings.

olderthanyouthink · 13/11/2018 22:33

I have a bum, not huge but more than average, plus a small waist. I found jeans (gap, specific ones, can't remember which now) that fit and they are just about the only jeans/bottoms I wear.

Deeply irritating when they don't have them, change them or the sizing and I've worn mine to death (can see daylight in the crotch)

ChoudeBruxelles · 13/11/2018 22:56

My arse and thighs are a size bigger than my waist. I just can’t buy trousers in some shops. I also have a fairly large busy so often clothes that fit my boobs are massive round my waist.

Bravissimo is good not only for big boobs but also big bums.

sizzledrizz · 13/11/2018 22:58

I don't think clothes fit anyone really well. I work out and have noticed that over the past few months my bottom has become more rounded, but think it was because it had gone a bit flat and is just perking up again. So the bum I hated in my teens, although men always like it, is now back. But not quite KK proportions though. I have a 14 inch difference between waist and hips. My main issue is my shoulders, arms and upper half in general, and trying to find things that fit. Yet my upper body is not exactly superhero size. Dresses are a nightmare, I would wear body con, but it's a bit dressy for every day.

sizzledrizz · 13/11/2018 22:59

I'm guilty of wearing leggings a lot though (not as embarrassed as I should be)

trojanpony · 14/11/2018 00:18

There isn’t
This was my path to big butt acceptance

  1. Make various attempts at buying Jeans and / or fitted trousers.
  2. After 3-5 years admit defeat and give up on the notion of owning any jeans or fitted trousers. ever.
  3. Start trying to bulk up wardrobe with a dress collection
  4. get frustrated that all dresses have either got high necklines (frump town) or plunge to your navel (NSFW)
  5. Find A line or fit and flare dress with sensible neckline.
  6. Rejoice.
  7. Buy A line or fit and flare dress with sensible neckline in every colour available. Buy duplicates of any colour that actually suits complexion.
  8. Attempt to keep wardrobe varied with a couple of body con sweaters dress type things (dark colours only). These are kept in reserve for non-bloated days and consequently are worn twice, max.
