To think this guy overreacted?

Driving home. Car behind me starts beeping at me multiple times, gesturing to wind down my window. Reluctant to do this but he wouldn’t let up (standstills traffic)

Turns out my I’d left the hatch door in the petrol thing (very technical but you know what I mean)

Nice to alert me but honestly ...

He thought he was doing you a favour.

Does it have to be picked apart and him ridiculed?

Did it take a lot of time out of your day to acknowledge him?

Nicknacky · 13/11/2018 20:16

He didn’t do anything excessive. He was trying to do a nice thing.

CoughLaughFart · 13/11/2018 20:19

What did he do? He didn’t shout, he didn’t swear... he beeped his horn to get your attention. Should he have composed a sonnet instead? Conveyed ‘you’ve left your petrol cap off’ through interpretative dance?

Don’t be such a bloody Princess.

Nothininmenoggin · 13/11/2018 20:19

Trying to help you what's the problem??

KarrisWhiteOak · 13/11/2018 20:22

Depending on which way it opens, at high speed you risk snapping it off.
Imagine that on the motorway hitting the windscreen of another car.

I’d be greatfull.

ambereeree · 13/11/2018 20:23

You sound delightful OP

UpstartCrow · 13/11/2018 20:27

I think men find it hard to comprehend that this kind of behaviour can be perceived differently by women to how it is intended.

Sitranced · 13/11/2018 20:28

Overreacting how?

Callmedarcy · 13/11/2018 20:37

That he repeatedly kept holding his horn down. It wasn’t just once.

I wasn’t anywhere near a motorway.

Jesus, slated for helping. Can't win

waxy1 · 13/11/2018 20:40

Did you thank him?

nocoolnamesleft · 13/11/2018 20:40

Sounds like he was trying to be helpful.

Biancadelriosback · 13/11/2018 20:41

I bet you always ask to speak to the manager in every shop or restaurant you visit too.

Dollymixture22 · 13/11/2018 20:41

It is a bit of an over reaction. I remember a man running after me and shouting in an underground carpark, beciase it was dark outside and I hadn’t put my lights on yet. I reassured him I would flick them on once I left the very well lite car park!!!!!

KarrisWhiteOak · 13/11/2018 21:01

🙄 I see you’re missing my point.

I’m guessing he came to same conclusion I have. There’s just no helping some people.

Birdsgottafly · 13/11/2018 21:11

"That he repeatedly kept holding his horn down. It wasn’t just once."

Perhaps next time be polite enough not to ignore him?
