Or is this an unappealing chocolate flavour?

Cheese and cherry. To be precise 12 month aged manchego and tart dried cherry in 62% chocolate. Just why combine three individually delicious things into something unappealing? And only $7 for 3 oz (I’m in the US).

According to the blurb chocolate and cheese go together because they’re both fermented.

So is kimchi. I love kimchi but I won't be adding it to brownies any time soon.

I'm pregnant, sounds amazing! Happily eat this right now, can you post it to me please op?!

LaurieMarlow · 12/11/2018 21:27

I'd have to try that before passing judgement. It could be amazing.

It's manchego, not a kraft cheese slice. You can get all kinds of amazing cheese in the states.

All it tastes of is salt. I don’t get cheese or even chocolate definitely no cherry. Tiny chunks of something white, no evidence of cherry it’s. It’s also that weird non-melting chocolate so the mouth feel is not chocolaty to my mind. Aftertaste has more chocolate, still no cheese or cherry. Not revolting but not something I’d buy again. No desire to have a second square. Needless to say it has pink Himalayan salt in it.

Cheese in chocolate bars? Do I really have to start checking chocolate bars now as well? The dratted stuff is cropping up all over the place Envy

Vom

I can’t believe I wrote “no desire to have a second square “ about chocolate! Luckily I also bought this. Chocolate with a picture of a sea otter, perfect.

What!!! That looks amazing!! Love American cheese, love American chocolate. Mores the pity I don't actually live in America to try this!! Wonders if a slice of cathedral city and some cooking chocolate would have the same effect

thefirstmrsdewinter · 12/11/2018 21:33

I have the Green & Black's cookbook and went through a mild obsession with the savoury recipes. I've made sweet and sour rabbit, pappardelle with venison ragu (both with chocolate if that wasn't already clear) and once served balls of gorgonzola rolled in chopped dark chocolate at a party. It seems bizarre but both are quite creamy and dark chocolate isn't very sweet so it's nicer than it sounds.

Thinking about it Hershey’s chocolate tastes a bit cheesy so maybe not so alien here. I’m British and cannot stomach Hershey’s.

Sauerkraut, yoghurt, beer, kimchi, wine, kefir, surströmming - also fermented. Doesn't mean they go together. I think someone at that chocolate company needs to give their head a wobble.

Neptunesgiraffe · 13/11/2018 21:17

I seem to remember Asda used to sell cheese that was striped with chocolate many years ago. It was quite nice. But I'm obviously in the minority as it never caught on.
