To look for stretchy work trousers for a petite apple?

I'm so, so sick and tired of wearing uncomfortable clothes in an effort to look presentable at work. So I want to find some trousers that feel like leggings but look smart, and I want to wear them in different colours pretty much every day.

I'm a petite apple shape so I need them to come in short sizes and have a stretchy waist to accommodate my expanded tum. I don't really care if they're bootcut, straight or skinny. They should at least look like they have pockets as this would make them look less like leggings and more like trousers. They should be of decent enough quality that the seams don't come apart on the first couple of washes.

So AIBU to search for these? And to ask you if you've found them and if so WHERE??? And what you think of my plan? Any other ideas on how to dress very comfortably for work while still looking professional?

seaweed42 do you have examples of where you have bought trousers like the ones you describe? they sound great

I don't know whether these would be smart enough, but I have 3 pairs and I absolutely live in them. They do look like trousers rather than leggings, and they are soooo comfortable!

Should have added - I'm a 16. Thats what I ordered, and they fit perfectly.

Hush Amy joggers
I’m 5ft 4 and a size 16. The hush hareems didn’t do much for me but I love these.
Smart enough for work with brogues or heeled boots but nice with trainers too.
I have them in black and plan to order the blue soon

I have a few pairs of these in different colours and patterns. I wear them with longer tops or jumpers to cover my tummy.

These are mine. Definitely workwear, cheap, and super comfy!

I’ve found some that I like at Lands’ End: www.landsend.co.uk/Womens_Starfish_Straight-leg_Stretch_Jersey_Trousers/pp/P_12178.html

They’re breathable, wash well, and feel like leggings - but the material is fairly thick, so they look more professional. I get the petite ones and they fit me perfectly. There are a few other similar styles on the site under “jersey trousers.”

I get the yoga pants from peacocks. They are brilliant and so comfy. With a tunic style top or long jumper they look smart enough for work.

My Uniqlo EZY ankle grazers arrived today..Omg! So comfortable and smart, and only £14.90 as the ones I chose were on offer. They are like full length trousers on me as I'm short, but still wondering what the most comfortable shoe choice would be. Are loafers with socks still considered completely naff???
