My dd is homeschooled right now, and will take some GCSEs at the end of this year, + 2 highers as she took those GCSEs last year (we're in scotland).

Dd has been homeschooled for 3 years because she was a school refuser. It has been working really well for her but she has asked to go back for 2019 as she can't take more highers at home, especially sciencey ones.

Because of the different cut off dates in england and scotland she would be in year 11 right now in england, and S5 in scotland.

The school want her to go into S6 in 2019 but dd wants to do highers then advanced highers and this won't give her enough time. I think that dd has been for the majority educated in the english system for the last few years, with taking gcses in the correct year. If dc moved from england, would they be allowed into S5 in the wrong year group?

WIBU to ask school to reconsider letting her into the year below?

Name changed as this might be outing!

It's always worth asking.
Is college for GCSEs an option, rather than school?
