1yo vomit no fever

Last night my 1yo was sick (a lot) at about 8ish. She has no fever and was herself before/after throwing up and seems fine this morning.

AIBU to take her to my elderly grandparents for Sunday roast? Or should I keep her home? Confused FTM! No idea why she was sick!

I wouldn’t, vomiting bugs aren’t great for the elderly (or anyone really). at the very least I would ask them before rocking up with a mystery vomiting bug.

I wouldn't risk it if your grandparents are elderly.

Okay thank you. I would never take her if I thought she had a bug. Was just confused if it was a bug since she has a normal temperature and seems herself!

In the absence of any other obvious reason (munching her way through a box of hero’s and then trampolining for half an hour Grin) I think you have to presume it’s contagious.

I follow the 48hr rule personally.

interesting thread, my 15 month old violently puked yesterday evening, I can count on 1 finger how many times shes been sick previously. No fever and no other symtoms, fine this morning and eaten her breakfast as normal. TBH i would think it would be fine, surely with no other symptoms the sickness isnt down to an illness a such.

I've had plenty of occasions where young kids have vomited for no apparent reason and it's been a total one off.

Cornettoninja · 11/11/2018 09:29

Fair enough, maybe I’m conditioned by childcare rules but a one off episode of vomiting on a Saturday night would mean no childcare Monday for me. I just wouldn’t be able to brazen it out if she had another bout.

I agree it most likely is an anomaly but vomiting for no reason isn’t usually a sign of everything being ticketyboo. As I said before I would at the very least leave the decision with the people unexposed.

I wouldnt. This is how these things spread

I very rarely get a temperature - no idea why but even with bugs or infections it doesn't happen - other people I know get high temps very easily. Maybe I'm a lizard! I'm sure I can be pretty infectious regardless.

Hope she's feeling better - best to avoid grandparents though.
