I’ve been awake with DS for 3 hours and yet to have a cup of coffee

Because selfish DH finished all the milk last night eating 2 huge bowls of cereal at 12am

He has form for this.

Luckily I’ve been able to give DS some toast with fruit rather than his usual weetabix.

He’s still asleep, despite me informing him an hour ago that the milk had finished and that DS will be wanting his breakfast soon. He’s still asleep.

Am I justified in being pissed off and should I force him out of bed right now to go and get some, or should I go through the effort of getting me and DS changed/ready and get some ourselves?

I’m so tired after a night of broken sleep, I just want a big mug of coffee to feel better.

Get the selfish git out of bed and to the shop. I would be fuming at the selfish sod.

ScabbyHorse · 10/11/2018 09:20

Selfish git. Leave ds with him and go and get some?

Santaispolishinghissleigh · 10/11/2018 09:25

Isn't it hoovering o'clock now?

DaanSaaf · 10/11/2018 09:28

Get yourself dressed, put ds with selfish arse and go out for milk. While you're out, find a cafe and enjoy a coffee in peace.

ifoundthebread · 10/11/2018 09:28

Situations like this I leave the selfish git in bed, put me and the kids in the car and go to mcdees drive through. Coffee and pancakes, yummy. Then still no milk for his breakfast.

Bluelonerose · 10/11/2018 09:28

get him up to get some.
Although I do keep dried milk in just in case we have a milk emergency which is entirely possible when dh drinks 4 pints of the stuff a day.

youarenotkiddingme · 10/11/2018 09:29

Yes totally leave ds with him and go and get some.

I use to do this with XP. Except I'd make getting milk take an hour as I'd also get myself a large cup of coffee and bit of cake on the supermarket cafe and pick up other necessary supplies

0lgaDaPolga · 10/11/2018 09:29

If ds is old enough i think now would be an excellent time to let him loose with a wooden spoon and saucepan and do some drumming!

LannieDuck · 10/11/2018 09:30

Definitely get him out of bed to go get the milk. He finished it last night, he knows damn well it needs replacing.

If he won't get up, may I suggest putting DS on the bed while you go out to get milk?

bluetrampolines · 10/11/2018 09:30

You know you can keep extra milk in the freezer?

Stopfinishingthemilk · 10/11/2018 09:31

We must be on the same page, I’ve just quickly got us both ready and we are off to walk to the local cafe which is about 10 mins, hasn’t realised what a nice day it is.

Sadly I do have to buy some milk as DS will need some later

I second either forcing him out (unlikely) or going out yourself and leaving him to look after son for an hour or so whilst you get some milk and have a nice coffee out (or even just enjoy 30mins peace in the car!)

Jagblue · 10/11/2018 10:06

I do try to have long life milk just in case. I hate to run out. I always buy mire milk for the weekend.

crispysausagerolls · 10/11/2018 10:08

You deserve a fat wedge of cake with your coffee!!

noeffingidea · 10/11/2018 10:44

I use coffee whitener instead of milk, for this reason (though it's my autistic daughter who wastes/uses all the milk.

rainbowstardrops · 10/11/2018 11:27

I'd have turfed him out of bed long ago! Selfish arse
