My one can pinpoint my age almost exactly...... it’s A-ha at the Royal Albert Hall.

I'm SO jealous of some of these - some of them are REALLY cool.

Several a lot less so!

My first gig was Paul Young, so snap catsandogs I touched his knee! Very proud of this!

redfragglebiker · 09/11/2018 20:07

Pink Floyd, 1994, Earls Court. There was an issue with some seats collapsing at the back of the stadium so they never really got started and we had to go back a week later for the rescheduled date.

AornisHades · 09/11/2018 20:07

Prefab Sprout.

BubblegumFactory · 09/11/2018 20:08

CMOT I saw Dogs d’Amour and Tyler drunkenly signed my copy of Errol Flynn for me. Loved them at the time. < heads off to dig out the old records>

n0ne · 09/11/2018 20:08

Shit... not 1994... 1974!!!

OneFootintheRave · 09/11/2018 20:10

@Cocolepew - That was mine too. 3rd July 1985. I was 15 and really late getting back home to south london on the tube, parents not too happy.

cazzie24 · 09/11/2018 20:11

MabelFurball · 09/11/2018 20:11

Hall & Oates in Camden.

TwiceMagic · 09/11/2018 20:12

Ash at the Glasgow Barrowlsnds in 1996. The day before one of my standard grade exams. I think it was accounting (I got a 1 😁).

BiddyPop · 09/11/2018 20:14

Local Band called “Mums Garage” (for where they practiced) in Community Centre when I was 15.

First proper gig was “7 Bands on the Up” (sponsored by 7Up!) where I saw Hot House Flowers, An Emotional Fish, Something Happens And Cactus World News - I was 17 I think, maybe 16. That was in the SFX in Dublin.

My parents never let me go to Pairc ui Caoumh for greats like Michael Jackson etc, or to Feile in Semple Stadium. But I’ve been to a few good ones since. Bruce Springsteen, Meatloaf, Bryan Adams, An Emotional Fish (again!), M People, and Def Leopard coming in a few weeks.

Heuschrecke · 09/11/2018 20:15

Someone upthread mentioned an 'unknown' band. I'll give you another one : Les Barnes & His Band - commonly known as 'Lay Barnay' in Pinner Grin

pastabest · 09/11/2018 20:15

911 in Blackpool. Do I win the wooden spoon?

In my defence I've also seen Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Catfish and the Greenday and Embrace since. Blush

DarthLipgloss · 09/11/2018 20:16

Pixies at Manchester Apollo, about 1990

notangelinajolie · 09/11/2018 20:16

The Jam

pastabest · 09/11/2018 20:17

Catfish and the Bottlemen and Greenday that should read. Blush

JustLurkingAway · 09/11/2018 20:17

One Direction at Wembley 2014. Thinking about it, I'd seen a lot of solo artists prior to them but they must have been the first band! This makes me feel like a baby.

redlittlesquirrel · 09/11/2018 20:18

Iron Maiden at the Nottingham Ice Arena.

I'd seen them (and many other bands) a few months earlier at Download but this was my first proper gig (at least for a signed band).

MuddlingMackem · 09/11/2018 20:19

Showaddywaddy in the 70s, my parents took us. The first band I took myself to see was Del Amitri in '89 or '90 at the Student's Union of my poly. Grin I didn't live centrally enough to take myself to anything pre-poly.

So jealous of @Rockbird. Blondie were my favourite band from I was about 8, but I didn't get to see them until I was in my late twenties.

akitas2 · 09/11/2018 20:19

The Police and Jools Holland and his Millionaires as support at Wembley about 1981
