Hello,Apologies for this if you are not a dog lover.
We have had our beautiful rescue dog for six years and two months.
EVERY day we are asked what breed he is.We don't know. The wonderful lady at the rescue didn't know.
He goes out twice a day.now two times six years and two months is a lot of what breed is your dog.
He is 42kg,height of a retriever.small ears.tail same as a retriever(yes we did wonder if retriever cross)small paws, not webbed.LOVED chasing anything like squirrels and going in mud and water(except clean water)but refuses to swim.very gentle natured.never aggressive.not a guard dog.Nothing unusual in his gait.the vet has no idea.
We absolutely love him.
We would just love to be able to have an idea what he is.
The majority of people say ;Wheaton terrier, retriever, bearded collie, old English sheepdog, wolfhound.
We can't afford dna.
So,if anyone has a dog the same and knows what mixture our lovely boy is please tell us!
Thank you.

His face and the fluffiness remind me of the Parson Russell terrier we used to have. Perhaps there is a bit of that in him?

He is very cute.

groundcontroltomontydon · 11/11/2018 02:17

He's completely gorgeous! Part Maremma? He doesn't look like a Beardie but the fondness for stinky water/reluctance to swim combo sounds very Beardie-like!

I really wish I knew,I did wonder about maremma. He definitely snores like a very big dog!he responds very well to training.he is intelligent and very kind.If we are are and he see's someone sat alone ,head down, maybe looking sad,he goes over and gently puts his head on their knee as if to say"it's ok you're not alone".a hand always rests on his head, accepting him and he stays for a minute then comes back to me or trots on.big softie really.

longwayoff · 12/11/2018 13:17

Parsons Russell? Surely not but Maremma looks quite likely.

BarbarianMum · 12/11/2018 13:19

Definitely some terrier in there, maybe wheaten?

LakieLady · 12/11/2018 13:36

DontCallMeCharlotte · 12/11/2018 13:56

I think I paid about £60-63 pounds to get my dog's dna tested a couple of months ago - bought kit on Amazon.

Deadbudgie · 12/11/2018 14:06

Wheaten terrier cross with revolver

Deadbudgie · 12/11/2018 14:06

Bloody hell retriever

BagelGoesWalking · 12/11/2018 14:17

I think he's got some Romanian Mioritic Shepherd Dog in him. The face looks similar and certainly the white coat.
