I came home from work about 10 minutes ago to a note from my DH on the fridge (where we leave need milk notes) saying 'we've run out of the bumpy shampoo can you get more? Xx'

We don't own 'bumpy shampoo ' I went up stairs to find in the bathroom bin the bottle of Jo Malone lime basil and mandarin shower exfoliating gel...

He's used the whole fucking thing in just over a month!! I was saving it for when I wanted a hot bath or long shower after a hard day at my new job! I hadn't even used it yet !

Aibu to Insist it's replaced? He's a fucking heathen who usually washes his whole body with head and shoulders. It was totally wasted on him 😭

Oh yes cheap alternative with salt or ground nuts (perhaps his own ground nuts)?

Haworthia · 08/11/2018 18:30

I bet his scalp is sooooo exfoliated though!

Yep, he owes you a new bottle.

WheelchairWoes · 08/11/2018 18:30

How did he not realize? LOL it's adorable in a omg hahaha men type of way

IncomingCannonFire · 08/11/2018 18:31

But is his whole body (and head) nicely exfoliated and glowing?
Just send him to replace so he knows how expensive it was.
Fuming is a bit much. It's kind of adorable. unless he refuses to replace

kaytee87 · 08/11/2018 18:33

Can he not read?

NewYoiker · 08/11/2018 18:34

@IncomingCannonFire it was more I've had a really really hard day and I wanted a bath that smelled nice and I like that smell and I've been saving it and it's gone. Plus I've had no lunch and no break and I've walked 21000ish steps I'm going for a bath and having some wine 😂 it was light hearted haha!

@kaytee87 to be fair to him once his glasses are off he's completely blind. He's very very short sighted. But he still made the choice to get it out of the cupboard and put it back!

Gummy Grin 'toilety' hahah! Hilarious!
NewYoiker So feel your pain.
Its a wonder to me, how they'd (I gender blindly include others in this) get through without cleaning their teeth with boot polish if it were left in the toothpaste spot.

iMatter · 08/11/2018 18:36

Bet he smells gorgeous though

SaltedToPerfection · 08/11/2018 18:39

Just so you know (and you should totally get your DH to buy you more of the Jo Malone!), Aldi do a Lime Basil and Mandarin dupe.

ShinyMe · 08/11/2018 18:39

My dad once said he's found a lump of rock hard old cheese in the fridge, so he'd given half of it to the dog and thrown the rest away. It was a big block of very posh parmesan. It must be 20 years ago now, but my mum still reminds him of it.

rosamacrose · 08/11/2018 18:39

Ah shite, done another cross post. Didn't mean to make a joke about your loved one being blind without specs.

flumpybear · 08/11/2018 18:42

Hhmmmm revenge - I'd be hiding his best and favourite toys until it was replaced

Saying that I recently dropped my husbands large bottle of expensive aftershave he's parents bought him for his birthday ... it was almost full and it broke! My oven gloves got washed with the towel we used to clean up the aftershave, thankfully on the bathroom tiled floor so didn't ruin the carpet! But my oven gloves STILL stink of the aftershave! It was about 4 months ago!

ShannonRockallMalin · 08/11/2018 18:53

My DS (12) said to me the other day “is conditioner the same thing as shower gel?” I said no. He sort of went “ ah.....” Grin

BestestBrownies · 08/11/2018 18:56

Totally missing the point of the thread, but the OP's DH is right that shampoo and shower gel are chemically much of a muchness and totally interchangeable for hair or body washing.

I'd draw the line at exfoliant though. Would take ages to wash all the gritty bits out of my hair.

Bluelady · 08/11/2018 19:01

Didn't you notice how nice he smelt? Buy him the Aldi dupe - sadly no bumps in it.

FadedRed · 08/11/2018 19:02

Wasn't there a DH who cleaned his teeth with Anusol on MN recently?

EdWinchester · 08/11/2018 19:03

Bumpy'? Is he a toddler?

My husband is clearly more metro than I realise. He can definitely differentiate between shampoo and exfoliator.

He needs to replace it asap. As I bought some yesterday for my colleague's bd, I can tell him it will set him back a rather silly £32.

savingmysanity · 08/11/2018 19:10

When we were very skint I used to buy myself treats periodically, my (then future) husband once cut off the stalks of all my purple sprouting broccoli that I had paid through the nose for and text me "This broccoli is rubbish, its all stalk". I feel your pain

Mummyoflittledragon · 08/11/2018 19:12

Could I suggest you refill the bumpy shower gel bottle with a Veet?

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 08/11/2018 19:14

You just know he'll see it, go "how much?" And get you a lovely big hamper of Bayliss and Harding.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 08/11/2018 19:19

NewYoiker, that would drive me mad too. I have my own cupboard of treasured products and nobody is allowed to touch them. He should buy you TWO, not one - compensate you for pain and suffering.

On the subject of JM Lime Basil & Mandarin, I'm very particular about this fragrance as it's one of my favourites too. Imagine my astonishment to happen up Superdrug's version which I bought as a handbag bottle. It's exactly like it. I wouldn't be able to tell them apart. The other Superdrug fragrances are horrible to my nose, but this particular one - amazing! Shock

BarbaraofSevillle · 08/11/2018 19:19

Oh to be a fly on the wall when the OPs DH finds out that the bumpy shampoo was £32, assuming he's not into naice products, or course.

e1y1 · 08/11/2018 19:24

This reminds me of the DH who kept washing his face with toilet disinfectant wipes and said they smelt 'toilety'

Bahahahaha(sorry shouldn't really laugh) much

Grin
Gabilan · 08/11/2018 19:24

OP's DH is right that shampoo and shower gel are chemically much of a muchness and totally interchangeable for hair or body washing

Yep. I find shower gel harsh on my hair, but shampoo is fine as a body wash.
