Fireworks 10:30pm?

Living in urban area, it's after 10:30pm and VERY loud fireworks are still being let off!! It's woken my baby who took ages to get to sleep, terrified my cat and set the neighbours dogs howling!! They are so close I can hear the rubbish falling into the road, hopefully not on my car!!! Surely it's out of order to let them off this late in very residential area? I know it's a private display and likely because of diwali but surely this late it is antisocial?

Tonight it's for Diwali and allowed til midnight I believe.

Sammymommy · 07/11/2018 22:43

I think it's an alright time. Until midnight it's ok for me.

bridgetreilly · 07/11/2018 22:58

I think it's actually 1am for Diwali, sorry.

Whilst it’s legal I agree that on a weeknight in a residential area it is antisocial

B*stards. They've just woken my (notoriously bad sleeper of a) baby up 😡😡😡😡😡

ReturnofPrincessOzma · 07/11/2018 23:18

They’re still going here, another load just started up.

Notting Hill, it’s been non stop tbh.

Diwali fireworks are allowed until 1am and I believe go on until the weekend. I'm on my 6th night of my dog spending 2/3 hours running round the house, up and down the stairs and barking at the windows. New year and Chinese New Year to go yet😔

RamblingFar · 08/11/2018 01:04

It's Diwali, a major holiday for hundreds of thousands of people in the UK. Fireworks are part of the festival of light and this year Diwali just happens to fall on a weekday. I went into town to the organised Diwali fireworks display earlier this evening.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/11/2018 01:10

I wish someone could popularise beautiful but quiet fireworks for use late at night ... does a festival of light need bangs and whistles?

Overinvolved · 08/11/2018 01:16

FFS it’s going on way past 1am where I am. I’ve got to get up at 5.30 for my early shift. Fuckers Angry
