To ask about Christmas and what you’re buying your 12yo ds’s this year?

This year I’m stumped.

He has an xbox, iPad & phone, books galore, kindle, nerf guns, Lego.

He has no need for a main present this time round. Granted his iPad & iPhone are old but they do the job.

I’ve no idea.

Only recently had a birthday.

Argh!

So, being nosey, what are you buying your 12 year olds this year.

Thankyou

Does he like anime? My dc are mad about it. He can watch some on Netflix first to see if he likes it.
A IOU for a concert I did this for Drake, but there's the jingle bell ball tickets going on sale tomorrow.
I hate lists - there's always to much on them when their are young ( so I ask them to added/ circle the ones they definitely want)
And when they are older the list has less but it's so much more expensive! So,
You could tell him a budget ( done this with the dc this year) and ask them to pick what they want.
Look at Game Store/ HMV/ Clothes Shops etc.

P.S with gameplay vouchers- make your own gift card and then he knows he got a gift but you can use your card.
Subscription are good to, my son has a Lootcrate one and so every month he will get a surprise.

I’m in the same boat with ds - he has a perfectly functional phone/laptop/Xbox/bike, has no interest at all in clothes, doesn’t play Fortnite, no interest in football etc. He’s into rock music, plays guitar (has loads of this stuff though as his dad indulges him with music stuff).

So far, I’ve got him a visit to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, a couple of Xbox games, a WWE belt and a Slipknot t-shirt and now I’ve run out of ideas! His dad’s bought him tickets to download festival as a joint Christmas and birthday (it’s not long after). They’re so hard at this age!

My son is a little older (going to be 14 at the end of the month) and is getting a Nintendo Switch for Christmas and an F1 shirt and hat for his birthday. Last year he got Hexbug Battlebots for his birthday and Lego, Knex, Airfix and Vex Robotics kits (amongst others) for Christmas.

Apologies as I don't have the link if anyone is interested but shouldn't be hard to find. I have bought my DS (12) a "young driver experience." It is aimed for his age group, so is not any public roads. It is 30 minutes in a real car + instructor via Virgin Experinces.

Justbeing, fab ideas! The Harry Potter tour could be a real treat for Ds. For those that have been on it where is the best place to book? Is it good value for money?

Pixel, we’ve recently done something very similar. Fab present.

Batface, that huge water bottle looks amazing but I’d be pinching it for myself Grin

Going to look at other ideas you fab lot have mentioned.

@RockYourSocksOff I booked Harry Potter through a Groupon offer. I don’t think it was any cheaper, but we get a meal each included as well. I can’t wait (think I’m actually more excited than ds is!).

Watching with interest as I'm stumped for 11 nearly 12 yo ds

thaegumathteth · 08/11/2018 14:23

The young driver experience is great and the one we did you can do a course of them so they learn different things each time
