AIBU to be at minor injuries

My son cannot put any weight on one leg, it feels warm. It's been like this since at least Sat morning. He has two rare conditions affecting his legs and hips. Came to minor injuries to get it checked out. Receptionist made me feel like a time waster. Ds does come to hospital a lot for various appointments so wondered if she thinks we are taking the piss? He's in his wheelchair as cannot walk one step without support

Of course yanbu. In fact, going from what you've said, I'd probably have bypassed minor injuries and gone straight to A&E. Hope he's ok.

No you are not being unreasonable, it's enough to cause concern in anybody and I personally don't think you could ever be too cautious, especially given the circumstances of having rare issues anyway.
Hoping everything is ok with your DS OP! 💐

Doesn’t sound like you’re time wasting at all. Had your DS been I’ll with a cold recently? My DS sometimes suffers from a weak leg (can’t put his weight through it) after having a bad cold. He’s been thoroughly investigated for anything more sinister but they haven’t been able to find any other underlying cause.

Could be DVT with those symptoms. Not time wasting at all in fact I also would have gone straight to A&E with those symptoms and I'm usually one of those "only go to a&e if your head is hanging off" sort of people.

A MIU is more likely to be staffed by nurses than GPs so my only concern is that they may not have the expertise to consider your son’s current condition in the context of his more complex needs. You may need to seek further advice. Hope he’s ok.

Forget what the receptionist thinks, she's hardly an expert! Hope your son is okay.

Back home. He has damaged the soft tissues behind his kneecaps as a result of falling on his knees as it hurts to walk. So just a complication of his overall condition :-(

The receptionist has no business to judge you. She has her job and she should focus on doing that.
