Names?

I know I’m probably being unreasonable but I am 40+6 and just need some help Grin

I know I’m having a boy and we’ve narrowed it down to 4 names. Please tell me what you think.
(I know there’s a baby name board but please just entertain me)

Max

Hugo

Zac

Harry

Noah

Zac is horrible, sorry. Even as Zachary it reminds me of the awful Zachary Smith in Lost in Space. Harry and Noah are overused, so is Max so I'd go with Hugo.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 03/11/2018 23:28

Zac is best

puzzledlady · 03/11/2018 23:28

Humphrey? That’s posh. Grin

Redyoyo · 03/11/2018 23:29

I like them all except Hugo. I do like Myles which similar to your choices but not as popular.

AGHHHH · 03/11/2018 23:31

Zac Dingle!

Bambamber · 03/11/2018 23:38

None of them are names that I would particularly choose myself. I reckon you are better of waiting until baby arrives. I didn't know if my baby would be a boy or a girl so had a top 5 list for both. We ended up choosing a name that wasn't on the list and it just sort of came to us. No need to stress about it just yet

zen1 · 03/11/2018 23:48

I think Hugo is cute. Don’t dislike any of the other names, but they are all quite popular at the moment.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 03/11/2018 23:49

Harry not just because I have one it's a great name.

ToastyFingers · 04/11/2018 10:03

I like Max or Harry. I don't really like Hugo.

Dd1 was born at 40+7, you must be exhausted, poor love.

CoughLaughFart · 04/11/2018 10:07

I like Zac or Noah out of those. Harry feels a bit ‘every man and his dog’ to me.

ImFreeToDoWhatIWant · 04/11/2018 10:31

Harry and Noah are just so overdone in my area so I'd personally avoid those, practically every third child is called one or the other of those. Max is borderline here in that respect but it's a lovely strong name, and I like Hugo and Zac too.

Grilledaubergines · 04/11/2018 10:40

I think there really must be geographical popularity with these names. Hugo is a great name, not pretentious at all here. Max is a dogs name? Really? Not here. Here it’s a strong name. Whereas Harry would be deemed common as muck.

hmmwhatatodo · 04/11/2018 11:47

Well, there’s nothing wrong with any of the names, it’s just that there are so many boys with those names at the moment it’s a bit predictable (ok, not many Hugo’s but I think you need to pretty posh to go with that name, though I do like it).

RedFallLeaf · 04/11/2018 11:49

I love Hugo
(but I'm middle class, guilty as charged lol, so do errr towards the pretentious apparently Grin)

I liked pp suggestion of Harrison as a formal version for Harry. But i agree Harry is it's own name too, but theirs quite a few of them, that's why I liked harrison to differentiate it.

RedFallLeaf · 04/11/2018 11:51

Oooo just read the Myles suggestion - like it.

Noah was good too.

Thesmallthings · 04/11/2018 11:51

Iv got a 13 year old noah. I absolutely love the name, it wasn't as popular when I picked it back then,

Harry I love.

Hugo I love to.

Ghanagirl · 04/11/2018 12:06

I love the name Noah but its quite popular around here due to ethnic make up.

Funnyface1 · 04/11/2018 12:13

Absolutely hate Hugo. The rest are ok, my favourite would definitely be Zac.

ConciseandNice · 04/11/2018 12:17

Hugo is definitely the best there. Not pretentious at all. Max and Harry are so common. They’re ok, but just everywhere. Zac is nice, but I’d use Zachary. But yes, Hugo is lovely (and yes, I’m middle class. Shoot me now)

Eliza9917 · 04/11/2018 12:40

I like Harry. It's on my list.

MatildaTheCat · 04/11/2018 12:49

Hugo is nice but I prefer Hugh. The others are nice but he won’t probably be the only one in his class. There were four Matildas in my class at primary school which didn’t feel very unique!

BitOutOfPractice · 04/11/2018 23:39

@19lottie82 that wasn't a strike through fail. It was a kindness fail. Just staggeringly snobbish and knobbish and unnecessarily unkind. Well done.

mrsm12 · 05/11/2018 03:25

I have a Harry and max and Noah are on my shortlist for ds due this week.
