I haven't seen the Queen film yet but I really want to go. Partner thinks we can take son who is 9. I absolutely think not. Aibu?

@Nerdybeethoven I agree with your analysis of the film but I just wanted to point out that Freddie was openly bisexual, not gay.

The PP who said an average soap is worse is spot on.

There are visual "cues" you might say, longing looks between two men but you don't see anything. A group of men walk into Freddie's room but you don't see anything. A guy is half naked asleep on his couch but you don't see anything it's all implied.

Only you can make that decision really.

I think if any parent of a 9 year old thinks that their child doesn't know that there are people out there who are gay then they are probably deluding themselves. They might not know about bisexuality but I'm sure they would know about people who are gay.
