To think I can do a degree right now? Young DC at home and pregnant

Just that really.

I have a DS of 10 months and am 16 weeks pregnant with our second, AIBU to think doing a degree now is a good idea? I've always worked basic jobs and desperately want a career.

I'll be on campus two days a week, sixteen hours. DP works full time but can choose his two days off per week to accommodate my studies.

I have an interview set up for next Wednesday but my DM thinks I'm biting off more than I can chew..

I did my nursing degree with DS. Found out I was pregnant the day I finished my first placement. Took 9 months off and picked up where I left. It does take planning but not impossible. If you want to do it then go for it.

I’d wait till September when the baby is 6mo.
If you start in January, stop to have the baby in april, then summer off, you’re quite likely to have forgotten anything you did in that first term.

Wouldn't you be better with a social work degree?

Just crack on and enrol in a course if you overthink it you’ll not do it
You’ll need to ignore & block out nay sayers who’ll tell you about missing precious moments
You have a supportive partner and the inclination, crack on,and good luck

I don’t think that will be a degree that will help you in all honesty. Something vocational would give you more options. If it’s going to work you’d need to treat it like a job with childcare. A September start would be easier. I did a dissertation with a newborn and it nearly killed me. It is not something I’d recommend. I was hallucinating with exhaustion as I submitted it.
