To think that there's so much tat out there

Just beginning my Xmas shopping and I don't know if I'm old and jaded now but there is just tons and tons of utter shite out there. Why does anything thats a gift have to be so pointless. Plastic junk like Emoji selfie lights, personalised junk, unicorn barf (WTF), in fact unicorn everything, flamingo everything, pineapple everything, gin everything, crap little speakers that sound like you're playing music through a straw, etc etc. I've been on Not On The High Street, Prezzybox, Present Finder etc Most of it just gets chucked out anyway, because actually no-one ever wants a wine bottle sized glass or sandal socks.

Are there any websites that sell stuff that people might actually want? I've got teenagers of both sexes to buy for and quite frankly gift tokens are looking like the way forward.

I bought some wooden toys from Tiger...v cheap too. There is a lot of junk out there though .....just don't buy it or buy less plastic.
Gifts are lovely but only when well though through.

Edible gifts are the way to go. Teenagers will eat chocolate or something and then it's gone, they don't have to find somewhere to store the crap.
Or books as at least they can be passed on or sent to charity shop without guilt after you've read them.

I have found my people. Would rather nobody got me a pressie then I don’t get anyone anything and then I can just spend the money on myself.

I usually take any crap back to the offending shops and at least try to buy something more needed.

I took a John Freida hair care set & earings back to Boots & exchanged them for reduced vests & socks for DD.
