To not really understand what mild weather means?

Fully prepared to be thought of as a bit thick but I’m never really sure what mild means in the context of weather.

I feel like a mild summer means a bit chilly but a mild winter means quite warm- is it just a word for middly rather than an actual feeling of temperature? As in it’s not extreme either way?

If someone says it’s got milder does that just mean it’s gone a bit the other way from yesterday, whatever yesterday was?

Mild - not cold. Simples

Really?
Like if it’s not too hot, not too cold, not blowing a gale or raining non-stop - you know - it’s just MILD. What’s not to understand about this? Confused

It means the same as in any other context. Not strong/ severe.

My opinion, I don't think it's really applicable for summer, but at other times I think it means it's warmer than you'd expect for that time of year. Today was quite mild where I was - I felt too warm in my winter coat at lunchtime.

I'd say mild is around 12 degrees no wind.
