to ring up about a house that sold STC?

posting here for traffic, there's a house that's come up on Rightmove, was added today but it's already sold STC.
The pictures and location looks exactly what we want, am I able to ring up and make a viewing or because it's already sold STC am I unable to?
Thanks

Contact the agent and ask them to contact you if anything changes.

That way if the STC is an error you'll be ahead of the game and, if it is true, you can let them know you'd like to be first in line, just in case!

They'l let you know what is and is not possible. But, as it is still being advertised then you can assume either the agent or the vendor doesn't want the viewing process to end just yet!

It is quite likely that if it is marked as SSTC the owners are not entertaining any further viewings, and it's just the EA getting a bit of extra advertising.

However, no harm at all in ringing up and leaving your contact details with the EA, so that if the situation were to change and the buyer drops out you can be notified.

Yes - ring up. It could all still fall through. And I wish someone had done this with my house as I would have jumped at the chance. Not all vendors are like me though

It’s worth asking - even if they won’t let you view it you could ask them to keep your details on file in case the current sale falls through which is not uncommon.

Def worth a call. We viewed a house and got out bid so kept looking. Couple of weeks later rang same agent to enquire about another house and mentioned in passing that if original house came back on the market we were still interested. Less than an hour later we had a call that the original house was back on the market.

There is no statutory reason why you could not view it. The estate agent is not allowed to prohibit you as they have a duty to get the best price for the buyer.

However the vendor and potential buyer could have agreed a lock out period for no new viewings.

Can you afford to offer more than the asking price?

If so you may well be able to gazump the current buyer, if your morals will allow it.
