That do not cost a lot and are suitable for 4 - 15 year olds, and around 30 mins drive max? Theme parks are a last resort. We liked the look of Conkers but it's over an hour away.

Pretty much next door to it is sherwood pines with loads of bike trails, playgrounds and a go ape style adventure course.

If you didn't mind theme parks, wheelgate Park is about 15-20 minutes drive away but might be a bit too young for the older ones.

Zzz1234 · 30/10/2018 20:56

There’s a go ape and a karting place round the corner.

Also white post farm and wheelgate about 20 mins away.

And Sherwood Forest with the Robin Hood tree in.

MissMalice · 30/10/2018 20:56

Rufford and Clumber parks are right by there. Sherwood Forest has a visitor centre (can’t go to Sherwood Forest & not see the Major Oak!). White Post Farm isn’t too far away.

Zzz1234 · 30/10/2018 20:57

If you want to go a bit further there is guillvers kingdom and heights of Abraham, Crichton’s tramway museum in probably looking at an hour in car.

katmunchkin · 30/10/2018 20:57

Rufford Country Park is across the road and Clumber Park (National Trust estate) is 15 minutes away. Mansfield has a trampoline park.

katmunchkin · 30/10/2018 20:59

Also there's a Tropical Butterfly House at Anston around 30 minutes away.

igglu · 30/10/2018 20:59

There's a go ape at sherwood pines which is good. Clumber park is near and you can hire bikes there. You're not far from Matlock, although probably more than 30 minutes, but there's the heights of Abraham and the blue John caves there.

Creswell crags is fairly close with prehistoric cave paintings too. White post farm is good too but might be a bit young for your oldest.

CrumpledStiltskin · 30/10/2018 21:00

Sundown adventure land is about half an hour away.

BikeRunSki · 30/10/2018 21:01

Heights of Abraham
Cresswell Crags
Crich Tramway Museum
Carsington Water
Clumber Park
Major Oak/Sherwood Forest

CrumpledStiltskin · 30/10/2018 21:01

Sundown is also really more suitable for 10 and under sorry OP.

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is a little over half an hour away.

Plastictattoo · 30/10/2018 21:04

Sherwood Pines is great. Go Ape, bike hire, adventure playgrounds, nice cafe etc. Not sure if Sherwood Visitor centre is open yet but the Major Oak is a bit underwhelming. We've also been to Conkers and thought it was fantastic. You could easily soend the whole day there so might be worth the extra travel.

BikeRunSki · 30/10/2018 21:06

Tropical Butterfly House and Falconry Centre in Woodsetts.

beltanelove · 30/10/2018 21:13

You can cycle from your Center parcs villa direct to Sherwood pines easily, takes twenty minutes max. Lots of bike trails, great cafe and park. Just good to know. When we’ve been to Sherwood CP we do a ride out there most mornings as you can have a proper bike ride right from the door. Good bacon butties in the cafe too.

Marble179 · 30/10/2018 21:28

Still leaning towards Conkers! We love Sundown and Wheelgate but not great for 15 year old! We. Have visited Clumber Park before so wanting a new experience. Ideally something I wouldn't do at home! We were going to visit the Major Oak tomorrow as it's tradition for us when we are here BUT reviews say it's changed and no longer has the visitor centre walk around etc. so really no longer appeals.

Echo some of the suggestions so far. Yorkshire Wildlife Park is also great

BikeRunSki · 01/11/2018 17:05

Magna

Happygolucky009 · 01/11/2018 17:10

Conkers is great and my 10 and 8 year old loved it..... Not sure at 15 it will hold the same appeal !

4point2fleet · 01/11/2018 17:15

Why would you pay through the nose for CP then pay again for days out?

Surely there are high ropes a la Go Ape, bike trails, falconry, adventure playground, cafes etc. on site??

BellBookandCandle · 01/11/2018 17:39

Why did you book Sherwood CP if you want to go to Conkers? Book and stay in Ashby it Overseal then Conkers is on your doorstep.

Bugger off to the National Forest if you will, but it's not as nice as Sherwood.

dontlikebeards · 01/11/2018 22:25

There is a new visitor centre at the major oak, opened earlier this year.

Go to Newark- National Civil War Centre, Newark Castle, Sconce Hills Park

katmunchkin · 12/11/2018 20:25

How about pony trekking - Derbyshire Pony Trekking is about 30 minutes away and is close to Cresswell Crags
