to have the cleaner away?

Been trying for ages to get my oven professionally cleaned. It’s a holiday home, so when I’m here I don’t want to be cleaning ovens. Finally had the person come and they’d sent someone who is unwell (heart condition) so their husband came too (the cleaner I contacted sent someone I presume on their behalf). He was going to be doing the cleaning ‘but it’s ok because he cleans mine all the time’.

WIBU to send them away, I felt a little bad, but also wasn’t sure they’d be insured if he did the job and messed my oven up (also felt like my husband could do it just as well as her’s - he’s cleaning it now).

Title means to read ‘to have sent the cleaner away?’ Can this be fixed?

So you’ve paid for a professional service, and an unqualified inexperienced person is doing it instead of the trained professional you’re paying for? No you aren’t being unreasonable. I’d contact the company and I wouldn’t pay either.

You can report it to mumsnet and ask for a correction.

I think that was reasonable, they company (or perhaps the cleaner) was unreasonable for sending a non-employee over. I'd be just as concerned about insurance.
