To ask what your favourite stage of childhood is?

I've never really thought I'm cut out for this parenting thing, but as other people seem to love it I do wonder whether at some point it will just 'click' and I'll find the bit of childhood that I work well with. For example, I loved the 6m+ baby stage but hated hated hated toddler years, yet other people seem to love that time. And I've seen other people comment that their teens are fab, and others commenting that teens were the worst bit.
For reference, my DD is 5. It is getting better, but I still find kids this age...dare I say...kind of annoying? Am I dreadful to not like all kids?

tricky as its been different with all of mine so i guess it depends on the child! I do love babies though as in under 2 so for me thats probably the bit i liked the most, most people with teens that i know seem to find them hard work.

My oldest is only 6 but so far I've absolutely loved under 6 months and 5 years plus. Not a huge fan of the toddler and preschool years, not helped by the fact both of mine are/were bad sleepers well into their 4th years.

I love different ages for different reasons. If I had to choose I'd probably say the 18 months - 4 years is my favourite. Because they're funny and cute and I love watching them learn new things.

My eldest is 12 so I haven't hit the teens yet and he's still lovely and enjoys spending time with me so far.

2-3 was my preferred age when working with children.
Lots just starting to talk, are hilarious, cuddly, stubborn, learn new things every day, independent but still need affection.
Now my dd is 4 I’ve loved every age for a different reason.
I felt like age 2 was when you start to be able to interact properly with them and they’re turning into little people.
They seem to change a lot in the year between 2-3. Speech changes a lot, independence, toilet training etc.

The teen years are great.
It's been good seeing them develop their own views, politics, opinions and interests as well as humour.

8 - 10 years is best, I think. Independent, but not too old for a cuddle.

I also heaved a sigh of relief once they reached 18. Especially the fact that we managed to get them there with all the family relatively unscathed.

5 year olds are a bit annoying. I was happier from seven onwards.
