I have issues of having to previously move area, so my home is now a safe place I really cherish that feeling of being safe.

Today I've just answered the door to a courier who without a word lifted his handheld device and it made the classic photo sound then he grunted at me - sign here and left.

I feel really uncomfortable with this. Surely its not okay to knock on some ones door and take their photo?

I know its probably silly and I'm trying to be rational but I'm sat shaking as I type.

This is the company and it says they take photos of drop off points - not people in their homes

I would imagine they would take a complaint very seriously if it breaches GDPR, which seems possible given their stated company policy on photographing householders.

"Our delivery man took a lovely photo of our parcel inside our shed and sent it to DH as proof of delivery"

But all that that really shows is that they put it in the shed & took a photo!

They could easily have taken it straight back out again

Yes to this. I was once sent a lovely photo of a parcel outside my back door, I'd been in my house all day and the parcel was not there when I looked. I had a replacement sent and funnily enough i found 2 identical parcels outside the door on that day. I assume the overworked delivery person took the photo and a then picked ut up again abesnt mindedly. Its was all very odd.

A bit off topic but I really dislike that delivery company. I arranged to have my passport delivered by them on a certain day, made sure I could stay home all day etc, then they turned up a day early while I was out and left a ‘sorry we missed you’ card. No contact number to complain or speak to a human just a website to rearrange delivery. Arranged it for the next available day but pretty much stayed during their working hours until it arrived in case they did the same thing again!
Back on topic, you have every right to be annoyed and I hope you get the apology you deserve from them.

Haven't read all the thread but I did wonder whether it was coincidence that you opened the door at the same moment the courier was taking a pic of it? Maybe his 'click' as he saw you appear was just a friendly spontaneous reaction? He certainly shouldn't have deliberate taken one of you though.

The last time a courier took a pic of my cupboard where things are left, reminded me that the door was in dire need of a fresh coat of paint, and that I really needed to get rid of the resident spiders and their webs that lurked within...

Glad you're getting over the experience though Smile
