Name changes as real lifers have seen this.

So I slipped on the stairs after I'd have a few wines but it was mainly thanks to a toy trap set by dd and I've really bruised my butt. I'm unsure on bruise care but it's pretty bad, should I get it checked out?

How bad are we talking?

astupiddrunkenbruise · 29/10/2018 07:32

I've tried to crop so my whole bum isn't on display 😂

No need to get a bruise checked by a doctor. You'll be fine

QOD · 29/10/2018 07:34

No. It’s a bruise. If it were say directly on your coccyx and you were in agony then yes

astupiddrunkenbruise · 29/10/2018 07:34

It's now darker and joined up more if that makes sense

Bruises change colour and shape as they heal. It’s pretty spectacular but I wouldn’t see a doctor.

Thank you for the reassurance x

Get some arnica cream, it works amazingly well on deep bruises. It'll stop hurting once it's fully developed:)

wrongendofthestick · 29/10/2018 10:11

I've had that from slipping on stairs. Bloody painful but time is a great healer. I didn't go to doctor.

Glumglowworm · 29/10/2018 10:15

I had a bruise on my bum like that after a fall, hurt like hell so you have my sympathy!

I recommend icing it with frozen peas or something (lie on your stomach with it draped over the affected area)

I have also hurt my coccyx in a different accident and discovered that one of the main ways to tell is if the movement of going from standing to sitting really hurts.

Even if you’ve hurt your coccyx there’s not really anything a doctor will do except give painkillers.

Rest, ice, and ibuprofen are most likely all your poor bum requires!

Blanchedupetitpois · 29/10/2018 10:16

Ouch, looks sore! Go and see a doctor if it’s still very painful in a few days but otherwise should just heal on its own.

peachgreen · 29/10/2018 10:19

I'm massively clumsy (mild dyspraxia) and bruise really easily so have had some whoppers in my time, much worse than that, and I've always recovered fine. One did leave a big lump in my arm that lasted for years and years though!

(Not bragging, just reassuring you that you'll live. Having big bruises would be a really weird thing to brag about! )

AutumnB · 29/10/2018 10:20

The bottom area is spectacular for bruises! I've had some whoppers when learning to snowboard. Must be all the tissue in that area (and I have a lot of it!)

Dottysmum18 · 29/10/2018 10:48

It will be worse because of the wine is blood is thinner therefore a bruise will be bigger and worse then if you hadn't been drinking will be fine Smile

Dottysmum18 · 29/10/2018 10:48

Your not is Blush

PurpleDaisies · 29/10/2018 10:57

Only if the op drinks enough for her liver to be damaged dotty.
