DS is at a school seven miles away and is almost 16. The school has a huge catchment due to where we live.
Depending on times it can be one bus or three! Normally it is one bus around school and work times that goes straight there. Outside of school times it depends on the time.
He has an interview at the college near home at 4.30pm after half term. School normally finishes at 4.15pm so obviously he will have to leave school earlier. Luckily if we are careful it would still be just one bus back for him at that time.
School have however said they have changed the rules on leaving school and now instead of meeting him at the college they want me to do two buses to traipse all the way to the school miles away to pick him up on the bus so he can leave early and traipse all the way back to the college near home. Due to the times I would have to go and connections it would take forever and i would have to leave work much earlier than planned.
Is this normal?
Does your school let children this old leave alone?
I'm going to go back to them but just checking if I'm unreasonable first!
