We booked with Virgin last year (Flight & Cruise) and had an issue/questions after the booking - their customer service was impeccable - went out of their way to sort out any problem.

Always think things can go wrong for anyone and it's how a company sorts out the issues that matters.

I’ve booked with virgin three times, though same destination each time!

They were really good with us. Last time we went was when that huge hurricane Irma was raging and there was a possibility we couldn’t fly out - they were very good at keeping us updated with the situation and alternative options if we couldnt fly. As it turned out we could fly, and didn’t need to make any changes thankfully. Once there the rep in the hotel was really good and had good offers and tips for us.

The only thing that I found let them down was some of their sales people are awful! We very nearly didn’t book the last time as had an in store appointment, emailed beforehand with budget and requirements and this guy was insistent on telling us what we wanted (nope!) and where we were going wrong, and his suggestions would be so much better. They were also 2k above budget and he said he couldn’t find any other options! We left and went to another store though with a much nicer sales lady who did exactly what we asked and very kindly added on some freebies and upgrades as it was our honeymoon. Not Virgin’s fault really so much as one bad salesman though, and although now we book directly as we know the place we go so well and it’s easier, if we went somewhere new I’d definitely use them.

I have used them for California in August. All went well but we missed our return flight back home due to traffic ( oil tanker exploded) . We called virgin for support . The man i spoke to was the rudest person I've ever dealt with . He response was ' not my problem ' . He actually told us his shift was ending and put the phone down. We were left in the middle of LAX with our 3 children without any support .
I understand it was out of their control but a little support would of been nice in such an emergency.

I booked with Virgin a couple of years ago and they were shocking. We had a bereavement in the family and I contacted them to find out about cancelling. They asked me to put the request in writing to see what they could do, led me to believe that there might be something they could. Next thing I got an email to say that they had cancelled my holiday!!!!

They admitted that they had made a mistake but totally refused to do anything about it. They thought I should claim on my holiday insurance. They haven't got a clue about that either as claiming on insurance is not a given if a family member dies.

I found their shop staff, regional manager, and head office (CEO) totally unhelpful and arrogant. I will never book with them again. Apparently the travel agent/holiday side and the Virgin Airline operate separately, but I have no idea if this is true as the people I dealt with were not consistent in what they said.

I booked my replacement holiday with a company called Tavelbag. They are mainly online, but I think have a couple of shops. Their prices are very competitive and my holiday was about £1000 per person cheaper than Virgin. I know that as there were Virgin customers on the same tour.

For my next holiday I booked it all myself independently and saved even more.

We use them yearly for holidays to the USA and they have always been faultless. Easy to book, easy to manage online, staff all really helpful and friendly at the airport, particularly in the lounge. They have good January sales. So it's a positive review from me.

I’ve booked to go with them to New York next year so I’m praying they’ll be faultless!

We booked twice, due to the fact that DH sat in a fortune in Virgin miles and you can only use them for a holiday if you book through them.

In both case the communication pre holiday was great, we booked some excursions through them and all went fine.

The reps in both cases were nice, helpful and last time went out of her actual time to see why our transport didn’t turn up and organised with the hotel a different one with no issues at all.

They are not the cheapest, so in most cases it is worth Shopping around.

We were stuck in Dubai with the volcanic ash problem many years ago. We thanked our lucky stars that we had booked through Virgin Holidays as we ended up having 7 extra nights free in a top 5 star hotel!! They paid for everything, really couldn’t fault them.

We've used them 4 times to go to Florida and we've booked a road trip with them next year and I wouldn't book with anyone else.
