To ask where to go on holiday with a baby under 6 months?

We are hoping to get away for some winter sun in the next few months Dec-Feb. We have a baby who is currently two months old. Where would you go? I am thinking baby friendly country, good baby-friendly facilities (if recommending a specific hotel / accommodation), good weather but not too hot, safe / good medical facilities. Budget is pretty flexible - we'd be happy to pay for the right place. Hit me with your best recommendations!

Thanks so much x

Anywhere you like. Not on solids and not walking is your most fliexible time. Genuinely, just go wherever you fancy.

A baby under 6 months is easy. Especially if you are breastfeeding.

We did six months in Sydney for dh's work when dd1 was 4 months. Flight was great - she slept and breastfed through most of the flights - and had a great time over there. Just kept her out of the sun.

I am breastfeeding.

Please inspire me! I'd love to know where has worked well for you.

Absolutely anywhere then. Breastfeeding and the baby can’t move.... can pretty much go on holiday as before. Make the most of it!

Anywhere you like, the world is your oyster.
If your dc is like mine were, easy, I could have gone anywhere I liked that finances allowed.
In hindsight, with my first, I wish dh, me and dd had travelled everywhere for months.

Think op is looking for suggestions where!! I'd say Caribbean. Love it there really laid back. Book business class or virgin upper.
Your holidays will be much more limited soon so take the plunge!!

reluctantlondoner · 28/10/2018 14:26

Thanks for your replies! So Australia and the Caribbean so far... keep them coming! xx

We took my five month old DD to Bali - amazing holiday! She slept all through the flight and the locals there adore babies, they were very helpful with her during meals etc so we had a brilliant relaxing time! Another holiday we've loved with babies was South Africa - she was 9 months for that one so a bit trickier but again very child friendly hotels. We went to Capetown and the winelands.

Anywhere...

We went to majorca when baby was 7 months old and now going to Gran Canaria with her at 9 months.

All inclusive so don't hqve to think about food as it will all be cooked for us.

Anywhere you want! Don't put it off like we did as toddlers are much less amenable 😂

I took my baby to Turkey when she was 2 months, 4 months and 5 months old (her dad is Turkish). She was 5 months when we went in August and it was very hot but she coped really well, just made sure she was drinking plenty.

I don't think any of the tourist places that are open during the winter in Turkey are actually hot so maybe turkey isn't a great idea. But the Turkish people, especially men, could not have been any better with my DD. in the hotel while I was having my evening meal, DD woke up so i was holding her while trying to finish my meal and the waiter took her off me and entertained her for me to finish my meal. Obviously I finished as fast I could and I didn't even ask but I was so grateful and shocked that he took it upon himself to do that, and he was a young guy. So if you ever want to take a child on holiday, I would always recommend turkey, purely for how good they are with children!
