AIBU to virtually starve all day and just eat salad and fruit as it's ww weigh in tomorrow? Been doing it a month and have lost 4 pounds but missed last week due to a school event. Ever since then I ve been worried I ve put on a ton of weight so trying to restrict calories severely.
I m so worried I have messed up by having a few glasses of wine and a cupcake yesterday and now dreading tomorrow morning.

And I don't have scales in my house by the way

PawneeParksDept · 26/10/2018 23:56

I get it.

I'm doing Weight Watchers at the moment and I'm really struggling the points are so severe it's unreal

YABU though because it isn't worth starving yourself for the scale

siakcaci · 27/10/2018 00:00

That's just creating a false loss and cheats no one but you. If you haven't lost you haven't lost. Move on from it. Do not starve yourself.

recklessruby · 27/10/2018 00:01

I have 23 smart points. I only need to lose a stone but it's hard as I work in a school so treat day Friday but weigh in Saturday morning

OP posts:
siakcaci · 27/10/2018 00:04

Of you truly want to lose the weight you have to lose the treat on Fridays

recklessruby · 27/10/2018 00:08

I have done. No treat for me. Is 4 pounds in 3 weeks enough? I really want to have lost more by tomorrow

sleepyhead · 27/10/2018 00:15

1-2 lbs a week is slow, sustainable weight loss, so 4 lbs in 3 weeks is fine.

recklessruby · 27/10/2018 00:18

I know but I am a bit impatient. I lost 5 stone with them before but a stone has crept on again while I was looking after ds when he had a nervous breakdown Sad

If you are doing it right the rest of the time, a few glasses of wine and a cupcake won't make a difference. There's a reason "treat day" is a thing, a small treat can help you not fall over and give up because you constantly feel deprived.

If you actually mean a few bottles of wine and a family sized Victoria sandwich, that's a bit different...

PawPawNoodle · 27/10/2018 03:53

YWBU to starve yourself! Your body deserves better than that. A treat won't derail you but the mentality of starving yourself to compensate for your guilt will.

BlitheringIdiots · 27/10/2018 07:18

I have 23 points too. I eat lots of 'free' food with my meals such as eggs chicken and fish. I usually have 5 left over for a glass of wine. Re plan your meals as you shouldn't have to live on fruit and veg only but have a healthy balanced meal. We had pizza last night so I was just careful with my other meals. It's possible to eat properly. Otherwise when you get to goal weight you will just start eating properly again and it will pile on

Mary1935 · 27/10/2018 07:23

Blithering your post says it all about “dieting” - you reach your goal weight and you will just start eating “properly” and pile it on again.
These type of diets are not sustainable - it’s needs to be a lifestyle change. I’m not saying it’s easy. I’ve two stone to lose and I’m 54 - it’s getting harder.

BlitheringIdiots · 27/10/2018 08:58

That's exactly what I said. You need to eat properly and healthily to maintain the goal weight. Personally I need some sort of 'rules' because otherwise I fail at 'dieting'.

recklessruby · 27/10/2018 12:16

Back from weigh in and I have lost another 2 pounds so 8 in a month.
I think I just always feel enormous the night before and think guiltily of the cakes and wine etc.
I m going to stick to the plan. I just get impatient!

BlitheringIdiots · 27/10/2018 12:24

Well done I've lost 16 in 12 weeks but know that by eating properly the final stone will take a few months and will be sustainable :). Keep it up. Some of us need help to lose weight - we can't all 'go it alone'

AlphaBravo · 27/10/2018 12:28

@PawneeParksDept the points aren't severe, they're just now geared towards higher protein, lower carb. You could eat like a pig if you wanted on zero/low point foods if you make proper meals.

PawneeParksDept · 27/10/2018 16:06

@AlphaBravo I'm on it at the moment and I'm finding it tough

NC4Now · 27/10/2018 16:08

Just be sensible today, track on the app and go to your meeting. You won’t have undone it all with that kind of slip up. Just draw a line under it and move on.

Thehop · 27/10/2018 16:11

I’m doing WW and totally get the day before fear!

I’m using mist of my points, meal planning and have lost 13.5 lb in 4 weeks. I love it x

Thehop · 27/10/2018 16:11

I’m impatient too but the time will pass anyway x

Toomanytoremember · 27/10/2018 16:15

I'm doing it too but as I'm breastfeeding I get 41! Don't know how I will cope on half of that!

Thehop · 27/10/2018 16:17

I’m only partially feeding now as she’s a toddler so I get 28

April241 · 27/10/2018 16:28

I used to do the WW propoints system and loved it, got to goal and was a gold member. Good few years later I’d put on some weight but still happy then had kids. Went back to WW and I cannot stand this new points system! I tried to get my head around it but found that things I ate before were hugely different in terms of points, the flex is even worse. I wish I had all my propoints books etc but I’d miss the ease of the app.

Anyway I’ve switched to MyFitnessPal as I find it easier to calorie count, plus I love The Hairy Bikers cookbooks (although OH cooks most of the time I attempt a few things) and I like that everything is calorie counted in it.

RTFT · 27/10/2018 17:01

Keep going, I've lost 8 stone on weight watchers.

recklessruby · 28/10/2018 13:40

I had a treat day yesterday as a reward Smile. Don't have a lot to lose but I will just feel better to be back to goal weight and maintain it this time. Some days it's tough especially as I have an active job.
