Am I a bitch for bailing last minute

Hi,

I'm a (24) masters student and I've had a pretty hairy start to the term so didn't hesitate when a new friend suggested that I buy a ticket for a Halloween night at the student union (tomorrow). Drinking the night away and having a bit of a flirt would definitely help blow off some steam. However, it's slowly dawning on me that with an essay due on Wednesday and two presentations to prep for that perhaps getting pissed isn't the best thing to do. We agreed to go together so I feel a bit shit pulling out. However, she did buy the ticket before she knew I was going. Would I be a bitch to bail so last minute? If it was just one evening it would be fine but getting drunk means Saturday is pretty much guaranteed to be a write-off as well.

You need to be honest with yourself about your drinking.

Oh my drinking is totally fine. I rarely get drunk and would have no issues if I was told I could never have another drink. I just prefer clubbing with a buzz- find it really tedious without it. I'm a massive lightweight- only takes a couple of beers and 2 shots for me to be pretty shitfaced (and hungover the following day).

I think it's ok as long as you reimburse her for your ticket.

I see you're going to attend.

So don’t have that much. Confused

Antigon

I paid for my ticket. She asked me to go after she bought hers (before I even knew about the event).

Spread the drinks out and drink water in-between? I say this as a fellow light weight. Another trick is to drink a pint of water before you go to bed to reduce the severity of a hangover. Dehydration is one of the main reasons alcohol makes you feel so bad the next day...
