Adult sized baby vests?!

Okay, not adult... But age 13 is there!

Is this a new fashion I don't know about? Like when grown women wear onesies?

Bodies

I thought they were bodiesmalso. I wore them as a teenager, and have seen similar items in shops recently.

Wingbing · 25/10/2018 17:11

Think there are in Dunnes, which is an Irish store I believe.

ShmooBooMoo · 25/10/2018 17:12

My friend said the label says Dunnes. Looked it up. Here's a link to (I think) the short-sleeved bodysuit in OP's picture. They have specialist bodysuits and sleepsuits for ages 3-14 years. HTH.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 25/10/2018 17:12

Yes, it does look like Dunnes Stores. I think there are a couple of UK stores, but also a website - www.dunnesstores.com

FekkoThePenguin · 25/10/2018 17:13

Adult ones are always way to thin at the bottom and end up, well 'up'. And the press studs were always in the wrong place for a fast exit.

ShmooBooMoo · 25/10/2018 17:13

Looks like they deliver within UK and other countries.

OutPinked · 25/10/2018 17:14

They’ve been in fashion for a while. I own a couple I wore on nights out 2-3 years ago. They’re a nightmare to undo when drunk...

Crunchymum · 25/10/2018 17:17

What was the original thread title was?????

HighwayDragon1 · 25/10/2018 17:17

blackeyed if you look really carefully I think that it says George. So asda?

Thenewdoctor · 25/10/2018 17:21

That look like a Dunnes label to me.

Bravo to whatever supermarket it is anyway.

Oldraver · 25/10/2018 17:27

Is this M+S ? If so they are part of the easy dressing range for children with various SN and medical needs.

Some of the t-shirts have space for feeding lines etc

Oldraver · 25/10/2018 17:29

M+S easy dressing

SputnikBear · 25/10/2018 17:32

They were popular in the 1980s, I remember wearing them. Usually with leg warmers!

chickensaresafehere · 25/10/2018 17:35

My dd (11) who has SN wears these to stop her fiddling with her nappy (she's doubly incontinent).
It's great to see them more easily available.I used to have to get them from specialist online retailers & they were expensive.
I know M&S stock them now but you usually have to order them.
Would be interested to know where the OP took the photo.

chickensaresafehere · 25/10/2018 17:36

Hope the original title wasn't offensive Angry Sad

SilverLining10 · 25/10/2018 17:37

I too thought it was odd but have now learnt that it's used by people with SN.

colditz · 25/10/2018 17:39

That's definitely from Dunnes

Jammiebammie · 25/10/2018 17:39

Good for disabled dd as 1) normal vests catch her tubes 2) can roll down off body to stop mess going in her hair 3) holds nappy in place better under normal clothes 4) she feels more comfy 5) stops rubbing/irritation from other aids she needs to wear 6) stops her pulling on tubes 7) keeps creams etc off her normal clothes.. I could go on Grin

I don’t think the Op was being disablist in any way, perhaps just curious why they would be needed in that size and shared with the wonders of Mumsnet. I’m really pleased more shops are carrying these as previously they have been a nightmare to find and cost a fortune to boot.

SassitudeandSparkle · 25/10/2018 17:45

Is this an advert for M&S, because that looks like their range of sensory/adaptive clothing.

Thenewdoctor · 25/10/2018 17:47

Definitely looks like DUNNES to me. it’s their type,of label on the hangers for the other clothes

SantaIsATwat · 25/10/2018 17:48

Thanks those of you who explained why they are more helpful - obviously I have no experience of caring for an older/ larger built DC who would need something like this and it makes sense now.

I hope this becomes the norm in more high street shops/supermarkets, it seems it would make life easier and more affordable for alot of families.

LightastheBreeze · 25/10/2018 17:49

OP say supermarket, is Dunnes a supermarket, in M&S they would be in the nightwear section so you wouldn’t say supermarket.

I’m sure OP didn’t know and is probably mortified now.

Thenewdoctor · 25/10/2018 17:49

I just opened the pic on my laptop - when you zoom in on the right hand item it says Dunnes on the label and on the left hand one the reverse is exactly the way Dunnes do their labels.

Thenewdoctor · 25/10/2018 17:53

Dunnes can have food and clothes, it can be a supermarket, yes. Some are just clothes, some are just food, but it's an Irish supermarket.
