to not know what to get 7 year old boy for Christmas who doesn’t like the ‘typical’ Lego, etc?

My 7 year old only seems to like football! I want to try and get him to ‘play’ more as he’s never been good at picking up and making a train set or Lego or any other typical ‘boys toys’.
I really want to get him to sit down and get engrossed in something. Does anyone have any ideas? Was thinking of maybe a good chemistry set if anyone has maybe bought one for that age and recommend something?
He’s very good about being outside but I worry he doesn’t sit down and concentrate on something inside and would love to try and encourage this.

My ds is 7 in Feb he got the playmobil football game over the summer and loves it plays games on it all the time he also loves match attax

My ds is the same and I’m struggling too. The football related presents he’s getting are

3D Barcelona stadium model
More of the football hero books to add to his collection
A football board game (found on amazon)
A football kit

And I’m thinking of getting him a football table hopefully one that folds away but that makes it more expensive

For his birthday he had loads of Messi training equipment if that helps. Also eBay is full of good quality Messi training clothes if you like those

If he likes football try Match Attacks. It's a card collection type thing. All the rage at the moment with several friends football mad sons and my football mad husband has been known to discuss it with them too.

My 7 year old DS loves fossil kits and gemstone kits. They’re set in crumbly stone and the kids can chip away and dig them out. They’re very cool and then fossils and gemstones come out at the end!

Think I will get some match attax thank you. Also we’ve had the fossil kit but I didn’t know about gemstones so I’ll get that as that definitely keeps him going for a good while!
With match attax do you get their own team or a mix? I can’t see him swopping any from his own team! Maybe I’m looking at the wrong thing as it seems complete teams?!
