Wtf?

Aprilislonggone · 24/10/2018 17:20

If she was my dd I would be so ashamed.

Blarneybear · 24/10/2018 17:22

It's not very pleasant but they aren't endangered so I can't get worked up about it. Hopefully they are good shots and the animals die quickly, unlike the cheap chicken most people who moan about this will eat.

SheepyFun · 24/10/2018 17:24

I'd be very surprised if that ram hadn't been owned by someone (though possibly the landowner who gave permission to shoot). A lot of rams are bucket trained (rattle a feed bucket and they come) so they wouldn't be difficult to hunt; they certainly aren't wild. Red deer have to be culled else they destroy their habitat (no wolves to keep the population under control), but definitely not sheep.

Aprilislonggone · 24/10/2018 17:26

How anyone gets a kick out of killing something worries me.
Isn't that serial killing mindset?

Blarneybear · 24/10/2018 17:27

Sheepy it says in the piece that they have no natural predators and are invasive

Shitlandpony · 24/10/2018 17:28

Weird isn’t it? Like they feel less pain than someone’s pet dog.

Blarneybear · 24/10/2018 17:28

I've not seen any link between hunting, proper hunting and serial killers.

I think torturing pets is more their bag.

NewGrandad · 24/10/2018 17:31

@Blarneybear the goats are invasive (still not a reason for trophy hunting) the sheep are not.

I presume the landowner has given permission, and it's not illegal, and I'm not a vegetarian, so I can't get worked up by this.

Veganfortheanimals · 24/10/2018 17:35

Sadly some people are just like that...kill anything ,eat anything...you either care or you don't .what goes around ...comes around eventually

Poloshot · 24/10/2018 17:35

It's pest control in this case from what I've read in that link.

Blarneybear · 24/10/2018 17:35

You do realise that lamb in the supermarket isn't born in cutlets on green plastic trays?

Shitlandpony · 24/10/2018 17:40

You do realise that lamb in the supermarket isn't born in cutlets on green plastic trays?

No I didn’t- is it not?

Racecardriver · 24/10/2018 17:52

I didn’t realise you could ‘hunt’ livestock Hmm

Poloshot · 24/10/2018 18:17

They're not livestock from what the article says

DieAntword · 24/10/2018 18:24

If you want to eat some goat and it’s not anyone’s property and you don’t really have time to send it to a slaughter house what would you call the process of killing it for it’s meat?

Rosehip10 · 24/10/2018 18:27

Typical gun obsessed American

Largepiecesofcrookedwood · 24/10/2018 18:28

I can't see it being particularly good sport, not in the way stalking a deer would be. A goat perhaps but I can't really see a sheep presenting a huge challenge
If they need culling and someone is willing to pay to do it then it seems a win win situation to me Confused

TroysMammy · 24/10/2018 18:30

Isn't fishing hunting?

BarbarianMum · 24/10/2018 18:38

Im not sure being shot is worse than being rounded up and sent to slaughter, in fact for a feral animal I'm sure its preferable. And if they're going to be shot, why not charge money for the "pleasure"?

Or perhaps the goats should just be left to spread til they do huge environmental damage and then start dying of starvation?

Ideally of course you'd introduce wolves, though I'm not sure the goats would think that kinder (and nor would the local livestock or pets).

UseditUpandWoreitOut · 24/10/2018 18:53

They're not doing it to cull, they're doing it for pleasure.
Sitting having your photo taken like that makes you a cunt of the highest fucking order.
Culling is necessary, hunts are for cunts.

Namechange000001 · 24/10/2018 18:58

Wild goats need culling every so often, or managing. They cause damage and are responsible for road accidents. We have a lot near us, they're mean and nasty at times.

Being shot is a damn sight quicker and kinder than the deaths of the livestock that end up in the supermarkets. If shooting goats is profitable, then it's another reason for the environment they live in to be protected and preserved too.

UseditUpandWoreitOut · 24/10/2018 19:02

We have a lot near us, they're mean and nasty at times said the goats.

Scienceforthewin · 24/10/2018 19:08

It's the pride I don't get. "I'm so clever I shot a sheep" :
