Since it's coming up to Halloween...

Hit me with some scary stuff!

We played with one as teenagers and asked the spirit silly questions. So far, so harmless. We’d used a board game turned over as the ouija board, with letters marked on it. We put it aside afterwards.

I came back a while later and there was a dead mouse on it. Maybe coincidence, maybe not. I’d not touch one again with a gun to my head.

We did this yeeeears ago and back in the day you were supposed to talk to the Devil and and start by asking for him to give a sign if he was in the room. We did this in my walk-in wardrobe and the light bulb blew out. There was a lot screaming and afterwards we put silver in front of all mirrors and windows in my room to stop any spirits coming in. 😅I haven’t done it since because if I do I will have nightmares!

QueenOfMyWorld · 23/10/2018 21:45

My dm who's in her 60s now told me that her friends and her did one when she was early 20s,one of them fell backwards off a chair, someone else started talking in a different voice and they all saw a face in the window..They were upstairs.

I had an amazing one. It said one of the blokes was in danger then the spirit wrote on a chalk board. We all saw it write the blokes name and that he was going to die
The medium went into a trance and levitated
Then a face appeared in the mirror. All the lights went out and we saw a strange looking man
It was incredible

FesteringCarbuncle · 23/10/2018 21:46

It was at the London dungeon 😁

FabulousTomatoes · 23/10/2018 21:47

Well I did one once with my friends who were visiting from out of town (this is relevant) and whatever it was that moved the glass told us that he was a man called “XYZ” and that he had died in the year 19whatever and he was buried in the church yard down the road.

After a few more chats with random spirits (one of whom was a lady who had died in a fire) we decided to investigate the grave yard down the road. Yep there was a grave, right at the back, where none of us had been before, that belonged to Mr XYZ who had died in 19whatever... we all screamed and ran home!

When I was about 14, a friend and I decided to make a ouija board one lunch time in an empty classroom at school. (Like you do!) It was a bright, sunny afternoon, barely a cloud in the sky. We made letters from torn up bits of paper and used a plastic cup. We'd only just started, when out of absolutely nowhere, with no warning, the sky outside blackened and a huge flash of lightening lit up the entire room! Probably total coincidence, but the timing was totally bizarre. Scared the shit out of us and we screamed and ran out of there. It felt like a warning not to meddle in such stuff!

Jeffjefftyjeff · 23/10/2018 22:13

Did one with friends at uni. It spelt out ‘leave me al—-‘ and I said ‘alone?’ And it went to yes. By the end only my fingers were properly on the glass and everyone was convinced I was doing it but I wasn’t. I’m completely non woo and never tell anyone else this story as I would be embarrassed . Wasn’t scared though.

AgathaRaisinDetra · 23/10/2018 22:22

👻

yetanothernewusername1 · 23/10/2018 22:29

Now I'm not at all woo and I don't believe in this shit really but I was there!
I was around 10 and me and a few friends were messing about in derelict flats playing ouji board with a milk bottle, we asked a few questions and obviously the glass moved, can be explained....then all of a sudden the milk bottle seemed to explode and it sounded like steps coming from the top floors getting closer.....we legged it!
I'm happy to accept a scientific explanation but that is what happened!

Jitters22 · 23/10/2018 22:35

if the spirits want to spell out messages by moving an upturned glass in the direction of various letters, then why the fuck do humans have to put their fingers on it?

The answer is because it’s one if not more of the humans pushing it.

If it was the spirit who was moving it you’d just shove the glass in the middle and let the spirit get on with it.

Hmm

DB and his girlfriend did it in their flat one night. I was too young to be there, but after that night, they never slept in that flat again. For about 10 years, one tenant after another left after a very short time, weeks at best, days at worst and it was only after it was totally renovated that anyone lived there for any length of time. Just hearing about that, and the unpleasant atmosphere in the place made me very wary indeed of ever using one and I never have.

StoneofDestiny · 23/10/2018 22:40

If you are suggestible it will send you off into your worst imaginings and scare the bejesus out of you. If you think it's dross - it won't.

Even Conan Doyle was taken in by all this claptrap - even though those who had tricked him admitted their fraud. So, if you are likely to believe, you will. 👻👻👻

mama1DC · 24/10/2018 08:52

Did 1 at a little weekend get together at an ex's flat, I went into another room because I no you shouldn't mess with those things!! Not much actually happened other than someone wrote out DIE!!! There was 2 lads and I said it was one of them without a doubt as they were both drinking!!!.... one lad left and nearly got run over on his way out, a few days later the other lad got ran over and nearly killed his legs were crushed.

Even if you don't believe in all that crap... just don't risk it.
