A warm up act is the performace before the main show.

I dont understand how you can get tickets just for the warmup act though, its normally part and parcel of the full show Confused

You have never heard of MM?

Sorry If I'm not clear, The warmup act is not the main performer and they will do a small performace before the headline act comes on.

Not in this case; Michael McIntyre does a 'warm up' tour before his main tour. So it is to warm himself up. He will be running through his intended tour act, but probably experimenting with the form, content and timings to see what gets the best reaction. Compared to the main tour it will probably be a more intimate venue and a less 'polished' performance.

I haven't seen Michael McIntyre's warm up shows before so can't be too specific on how it compares to the main tour, though.

Is it a warm up performance of MM?

I've seen smaller tour warm up shows which is where the rehearse the material. No MM but other (better) comedians.

If its that then go for it!

Do you mean warm up show? Usually in that context with someone like a comedian like Michael McIntyre, warm up shows will occur usually before a bigger tour or a recording of shows, usually in smaller venues, in order for the comedian to practice new jokes and try new material and see how it goes and what fits. All the warm up shows could be different; filled with different jokes, and then if you go to one of the main shows, they're all likely to be all the same through the duration of that tour.

My friend always goes warm up shows - not many people - smaller venue - but 90% the same content as actual show and cost less!

And easier to talk to act after show, like a practice before main event! To change minor things but typically is same as main tour!

I went to one of Lee Evans warm up shows. Generally much smaller venues and jokes which are being tried and tested for the first time. Mistakes are funnier and commentary inbetween jokes made it even more hysterical. Love MM.....if you can get tickets for it, do it!
