How do you let your hair down?

Posting for traffic.....
Except for going out, how do you let your hair down/relax feel free and excited etc etc
Or is there no other way to get the free feeling than getting dressed up and going out and sharing a bottle with your friends?

I think getting together with friends can be just as fun at home, too.
It depends a bit on your circumstances, and also your lifestyle.

I've always ringfenced a bit of time to "just be me" - that can be to do whatever it is that helps you relax / have a laugh / put a smile on your face. For some people it is some sort of exercise, for others it is singing, for others it is 'chatting' - maybe in a bookclub or a craft group or something like rambling.

Depends what you are looking for - relaxing? me time ? Some kind of 'high' like from dancing the night away ?

Do you want to make time to be with partner or just to get away for an hour or two to do just what you want or what ?

My feel free time usually involves getting up earlier than usual finding a quiet coffee shop and enjoying a good read over a peaceful breakfast
I am a member of a lovely gym that also has sauna, steam rooms, pool, and hot spa pools both indoor and outdoor I go there for a few hours
Also love a proper spa day with a friend and a few beauty treatments

I drink too much! (and stay up too late!)

I read.

I love my exercise classes.

I'm in a book group.

And I don't particularly do this, but I do recommend doing something for yourself (like, a luxurious bath, if you like bathing)

Why do you feel the need to ask?

And enjoy time with my friends.

my allotment is my happy place, particularly in the summer when the bees are buzzing round the lavendar hedge, the butterflies are in the meadow flowers and the frogs are hopping. With a nice flask of tea and a chocolate biscuit or three ( very occasionally there might be a drop of wine in the flask)

Going to live comedy always cheers me up. I went to to see Sarah Millican s few weeks ago, this time with friends but I often go on my own

I go out a lot on Friday nights as none of us work on a Saturday, not to get roaring drunk but a few glasses of wine with adult dc in a nice pub garden or inside if weather cold.
I come home, get out of school clothes and be me again.
Other than that cosy nights in with my beautiful tabby cat purring on me and a good book.

Take the scrunchie out. It’s been so long since I’ve done anything fun I’m not sure I even know how any more.

I dance. This can be in a nightclub (sometimes drunk, sometimes high, sometimes completely sober but for my own endorphins), or a 5 Rhythms session, or a free form or street dance class. There’s just something terribly therapeutic about letting my body move to music in whatever way it takes itself. I absolutely recommend it - even if you think you can’t dance as there’s really no such thing.

Listen to some music of my choice for a bloody change.
Watch an old film that I loved from my childhood with some popcorn.
Have nice long bath.
Read a book.
Just generally be alone, I get a massive buzz from it as it's so rare these days and I crave it. Other people can sod off, I can have the best parties by myself!

Had just as much fun drinking coffee as wine tbh. It's about the people not the clothes/beverage/time of the day.

I literally don't think there is anything better than inviting people round for a home cooked meal, going out for a cooked breakfast or enjoying a cup of something warm with a friendly face.

Had a bubble bath tonight. First one in months which was thoroughly lovely although I never quite feel clean unless I shower after.

Also a really good book.
