I’ve recently, well for ages, been irritated with myself for falling so easily down a scroll hole. Social media feels like such an addiction! So, big step, I deleted both from my phone 6 weeks ago. It’s going well, except, I now spend ages reading news apps over and over, and generally surfing. I need help! Anyone found similar?

Deleted Facebook about 18 months ago and it was probably the best thing socially I’ve ever done. People say to me ‘oh did you see such and such arguing on facebook over X Y Z?’ Erm nope!

The only thing I’ve ever missed out on is knowing what film Karen from my year 12 class is watching or pictures of Delila from the office’s first solo cruise since the breakdown of her marriage (also probably documented on facebook). In general i feel much happier

Stopped FB 4 months ago, didn’t want to delete as a load of photos on there I don’t want to lose. I felt constantly stressed about liking people’s announcements & holiday pics - people who haven’t even been in my life for years- felt I couldn’t delete people as I would feel mean so thought I would just remove myself instead.
I do go on insta but don’t have friends on there and I don’t post myself I just follow some fitness& recipe people for inspiration. However, I have found myself wasting hours of my life on MN in the last couple of months.

I haven’t deleted FB but I have done a massive friendship cull and deleted or unfollowed so many people. Now I have less than 50 friends on there, all of whom I genuinely like & am interested in the things they post

Deleted it all. Best thing I ever did. Guess what. Real friends are real friends!

I dont use facebook a lot anymore, never really posted on it. Usually log in max twice a week. Don't miss it but sometimes have to check the kids school page and other groups. Hardly use twitter, got rid of snapchat, use instagram sometimes.
If it wasnt for the school page I would delete it but they put info on there that they do not email out so it is necessary.

I deleted fb about 2 years ago after being horribly bullied by a group of people old enough to know better. Don't use Instagram. Have a twitter account under a false name and only use it to read about specific topics - never felt happier
