Anyone else? Am I doing too long? Heat maybe? Skin handling the rays well, never red after.

prickly heat

Dhapeer · 21/10/2018 19:10

Only doing 6 minutes. Maybe should go down to 5. There are fans in the beds. Didn't have this when in the stand up ones. Might go back to them.

Or give up sunbeds as you’re obviously damaging your skin? Confused

LapinR0se · 21/10/2018 19:11

Going on sunbeds is really really stupid.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/10/2018 19:12

They could be nothing to do with the sunbed. However I'd be taking no chances. I'd be getting off them all together and sticking with fake tan. Watch Final destination 3 that'd put anyone off!!!!
Oh and id definately being visiting the GP. Better safe than sorry and heaven forbid if it is something nasty hopefully they will catch it in time,

PathOfLeastResitance · 21/10/2018 19:12

Or don’t use sunbeds as they’re really bad for you?

PurpleDaisies · 21/10/2018 19:12

Do yourself a favour and stop.

Have you heard of melanoma?

KateGrey · 21/10/2018 19:14

Please don’t use sunbeds. They’re really dangerous.

irrate · 21/10/2018 19:15

Going on the sunbed for less time will not prevent the rash. It will get a LOT worse trust me I suffer from this and don't even have to sit I the sun anymore before I have a break out the heat makes it worse. And for the love of god get off the sunbeds are you trying to give yourself cancer. Fake it don't bake it trust me it's not worth it.

Shockers · 21/10/2018 19:17

My sunbed using friend is currently being treated for skin cancer. I have no idea why people still use them, given the depth of knowledge around the dangers.

Sparklingbrook · 21/10/2018 19:20

I didn't realise people still used sunbeds. Shock

Get a spray tan.

Twinning1 · 21/10/2018 19:21

Would you rather have cancer or a tan? It is just so silly! Please don’t use sun beds. I cannot wait for the day when they are banned in this country. They also cause premature aging, do you want to look like a piece of orange leather in a few years? Yuck!

adaline · 21/10/2018 19:23

You're just damaging your skin - get a spray tan instead!

I really think sunbeds should be banned.

Gingernaut · 21/10/2018 19:25

Blisters after UV exposure means you've got sunburn! 😱

Cantusethatname · 21/10/2018 19:26

Don't go on sunbeds. Not ever.

Twinning1 · 21/10/2018 19:28

Please can you give a bit of a clue as to why on Earth you would do this? Is it really worth it? What sort of person knows the risks but still goes and does it anyway? It’s not addictive in the same way that smoking is, so why can’t you just stop it.

Most people I know think the fake tanned look is seriously trashy and being natural (whatever your skin tone) is far nicer. Who actually likes sunburned, orange, wrinkly skin?

Cachailleacha · 21/10/2018 19:29

Sunbeds should be illegal, they increase melanoma risk and the NHS is in enough trouble.

kaytee87 · 21/10/2018 19:30

They're blisters from sunburn. It doesn't matter if your skin isn't red, it's still burning.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/10/2018 19:31

Blisters after UV exposure means you've got sunburn

This^ They sound like blisters to me too. As others have said get off the sunbeds. A three inch scar for a 4mm mole is a lot less attractive than not having a tan.

Knittedfairies · 21/10/2018 19:31

You’re grilling yourself! Bubbles... blisters?

WicketWoo · 21/10/2018 19:34

Sorry to high jack but when I was younger and before the dangers were properly established I used sun beds a lot. What should I be looking out for in terms of skin cancer?

I have dark skin, tan very easily and never burnt/went red - in case that makes a difference.

These sorts of threads always make me so nervous.

OP - I agree with everyone else don't do it.

QueenNovo · 21/10/2018 19:36

Blisters after UV exposure means you've got sunburn

Not necessarily, it can be an allergic reaction rather than sunburn. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photodermatitis

donajimena · 21/10/2018 19:40

wicket don't panic. If you have skin that tans easily you probably have some natural protection. However, this is anecdotal. Just remain vigilant. Keep an eye on your skin and always use sunscreen. We should all be doing this anyway.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 21/10/2018 19:42

I'm with Cach.
