To be scared by DFS reviews? Or am I just hormonal....

We are in the middle of massive renovation project and I'm 24 wks pregnant which I think is making me more anxious!

We spent ages looking at sofas this afternoon (oak furniture land, Harvey's, scs and dfs) found one a corner one we liked in DFS the abigail range but didn't order due to no carpets, walls etc currently.🙈 But trying to get everything lined up before baby arrives last thing I want is delivery men with a newborn!

So came home and did a bit more research and now completely confused and overwhelmed. Some recent reviews are horror stories and quite concerned about the whole cleaning aspect/weird insurance thing especially with a baby.

I've said to DH that we need to rethink, he doesn't want to buy a sofa that he can't try (which I get) but I'm worried about spending so much money and then having loads of issues!

I won't have the energy to sort it out if it goes wrong but not sure if I'm being hormonal!

Help!!!!!

Our sofas are DFS. Refused all extras. It's a bit annoying as they won't scotch guard them without you signing up to all the shizzle and DH refused. Having said that a strategic wet wipe scrub has been fine so far...

No issues with delivery.

Thanks all I feel a lot better that I'm not being hormonal in questioning it especially with the cost.

Agreed with DH this morning that we would take a trip to Edinburgh to IKEA and also visit a large next home etc in November as we don't have those stores near us so it's a day trip!

The DFS one is on sale until early December so time for us to do more investigation.

We had second hand sofas for years. The renovations have already taken longer than hoped due to lead times but we have been promised early December by the last fitter after I had a bit of another hormonal cry but that's a different story Blush

I've had no problems with DFS. Our sofa was scuffed from when the men delivered it, it was sorted within a week.

Always avoided DFS; when we decided to have a change from our 90 year old sofa (was recovered in 1980s!) we went for another Parker Knoll, 25 year guarantee and no extras.

The reviews on Trust Pilot used be absolutely terrible. I can't help but wonder about the legitimacy of the recent positive reviews. The negative ones were all detailed, often referring to stores and particular people. Wouldn't and didn't touch them with a barge pole.

I have a lovely DFS sofa. No issues.

I bought the accidental damage cover as I have cats. Never needed it. Waste of money.

I had an ikea extorp for over 10 years. It was fab. Only replaced as I didn't want to spend a fortune on new covers for such an old sofa

Thanks all we had another look at options and convinced DH to go for Nabru instead!

It's online only and self assembly but works out about £500 cheaper and they have a full returns policy in 14 days if not happy which gets past DHs concerns about what if we don't like it as haven't sat on it.

It's washable and can order replacement covers.

Hopefully it will work out but feel loads better in terms of if something does happen it has replacement parts etc and the saving means that I can get the Ikea wingback that I want too! 😊
